Merry Manky Malazan Meet v3.0

If I'm healthy (which is not something I would have even thought about a week ago but there you go) then you should see me there. Despite the lack of football fixtures, the 20th strikes me as rank insanity - I really think it's the worst idea in the history of bad ideas to be annywhere near Manchester City Centre on the Saturday before Christmas...
And stop making me laugh; not only does it make the nurses look at me funny, it also makes me cough which is less fun than it sounds.
And stop making me laugh; not only does it make the nurses look at me funny, it also makes me cough which is less fun than it sounds.
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. I'd agree with the wise monkey going into town on black eye Saturday would be insane.
I'll just reiterate my desire for the 6th if pos.

I'm leaning towards the 6th at the moment. I don't finish uni until the 19th, and discounting the 20th (which is a very good point), it doesn't matter which one before then, to me... but I think more people can come on the 6th.

How on earth did you get into team handsome?
I'm starting to think Flawed's quality control is dipping.

Not jealous, I rather like 'Malazan Artist actually, just surprised. I'd never join team handsome I've seen the members and I wouldn't want to have to bring myself down to your level.

Ahem, you're old with a receding hair line whilst I'm still young, charming and pulling good looking and witty females there's no competition son.
You've never met Flawed or Shiara, and they're both very handsome.
EDIT: Although I must admit you do have a certain charm of your own if you like the grumpy outspoken type (which a lot of females do)
EDIT: If grumpy is the right word.

I was joking silly, hearking back to the first manky malaz meet. Trying to instill a bit of nostalgia. Nevermind, lets get shitfaced and not have to worry about offending our hosts like at the BBQ.
Woah! You were at the first one? Certainly don't recall you* being there, though the old brain is going a bit these days ;-)
Probably wont be able to make it but you never know, when a date is set I'll look harder.
*Unless of course you've changed your forum name in the past 5 or so years... so hard to keep track of them all...

I think there was 8 of us:
Mal
Hetan
Broody
Mezla
Grumble
Stone Monkey
Imperial Historian
Cougar
If anyone else came i was too drunk to remember, it was cracking though, a couple more would be good as well. It's pretty much like going to the pub with your mates, albeit mates who you might not have met before or only see a few times a year.

Damn, if I had money I'd go, but alas I'm broke. Might be in next year though. Be great to meet y'all.

I highly recommend the meet ups to anyone on the fence. It's weird how normal it feels after the initial freakiness of walking up to a table of people you don't yet do know......

Well it is a little odd at first but you do feel oddly like you already know the guys. Once you get over the initial shock of how people look the conversation flows quite naturally. If you are lucky and Hetan and Mez come it's not a total sausage fest either

No one has shouted about how it must be a different date, so I guess it is, now

Do you mind if we change it to another date?
I'm not really sure what would be the best date.
Perhaps the 25th?

No, not the 25th. I'll be working all day that day.
