Congrats Tiste
In other news I had one of those terrible grown-up moments, where I'm not sure if I should be happy or mad.
First week back from a two week vacation. A mountain of mails and assignments to go through, four days later with about 12 hours of overtime, just done with an 11 hour work day, the Inbox is cleared and every work sheet is balanced or waiting for feedback. I found myself biking home and feeling happy because I know I've done a good job.
I think I'm turning into a government drone

My partner and I got approved to get married (they check so you're not closely related or already married) so time to buy some rings

Congrats on not marrying your sister and marrying the right person! I take it we're all invited?
What's making me happy is that Mrs Tiste and I are having a babymoon - two nights in a hotel with a pool, my parents have the toddler and I have not much to do but relax and read. Bliss!

Family covid isolation was over yesterday. I am going to be banging on my kids classroom door for them to start the week early on Monday.

I got the offer.
More money, 20 days leave, 401k match and best of all I may not have to move to Boston. But may have to travel there for 2-3 weeks a months in the early onboarding stages.
Staying in philly will save me a ton, especially since I literally move to my new Philly apartment tomorrow

Yah, time to run up those Rocky steps.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Congratulations! Fingers crossed for not having to move.
A couple of things are making me happy. Started the therapy I mentioned in the bittersweet thread a couple of weeks ago, therapist is nice and feels like a good fit. Feels like a weight off just to have the setup in place.
Also, it's my singing teacher's Autumn concert tonight. I started lessons in the spring, having spent a long time convinced I couldn't sing. As she's a hike away my contribution is pre-recorded but being played on a projector still feels like a big leap from assuming I couldn't hit a note with a cricket bat at the start of the year. Recording is Go the Distance from Hercules, which I love as a song anyway.

Remember if it all goes wrong, you can claim you were going for a thrash metal singing style.

My mom got diagnosed with stage 1 lung cancer BUT they were able to successfully remove it all through a lobectomy, and no chemo!!! My birthday is on Sunday, and this news was the best birthday gift I could get!
