Hah, it appears despite my brutal honesty (see the groove thread), I've been approved for life insurance. Guess I don't sound like I could die anytime soon.

This cold front that moved through is amazing. 58F right now. The rest of October forecast is likewise looking good with all low’s in the 50’s after tomorrow and day after. Perhaps we won’t be sweating and slapping mosquitoes constantly while bathed in repellent for Halloween this year. Been a number of years since we had an October like this. Weather channel is predicting a below average temps for Nov and Dec for the entire SE of US and telling us to prepare for likely snowfall this winter.

U.S. Women's National team shut out Canada to take the CONCACAF Championship (2 - 0). Suffice it to say, I have the biggest grin on my face right now (splitting from ear to ear).
Canada, as always show how classy they are by getting 4 yellow cards to our 1. I would pay one of our gals good money to outright coldcock that asshole Christine Sinclair. She is human garbage. 'Can't-A-Duh' can limp their sorry asses up north and cry into their maple syrup and dry their eyes with their toques.

Home a day early for the dentist. This is not making me happy.
What IS making me happy is a package arrived a week early
It's a 50lb draw. Mongolian style recurve. Wonderful stuff. All I need now is time to practice with it

It's the falconry centre's Harry Potter weekend starting tomorrow. Hordes of children aside, it's a good laugh, all the staff are in character and it's generally a lovely weekend.
I promise if anyone gets any photos of me dressed up I'll post them for general entertainment!

Our son was born yesterday at 6pm!
Both mom and son doing well, and it was a fast and easy delivery.
We named him Grayson.

I volunteer there at weekends - sensible adult job in the week sadly. It is very rewarding though! Tiste can confirm, he's been over to see it!

That rings a bell so I must have asked you previously. I'm jealous. Been obsessed with birds of prey since a book I read at the age of about 11. Joined a falconry club in New Jersey, back when I lived there, just to have an excuse to be around them close up. Unfortunately, becoming an actual falconer is one of those "If I were to ever hit the lottery" dreams. The good thing about mild winters in Florida, though, is that plenty of hawks, falcons and eagles stop here for migration. I expect to see the first of many American kestrels any day now.

You have to do an apprenticeship over there don't you, if I recall correctly? I know it's a much more regulated thing than it is over here. American kestrels are beautiful - so I'm jealous in turn
