We just spent $200 on over $3000 worth of educational resources. Pretty hapoy about that! Including a comprhensive engineering/technology curriculum and a comprhensive science curriculum which incorporates Indigenous knowledge and understandings.

My favourite thing - $500 anatomical model of the human heart for $5. :p

I've been hired full time at my job. It's a dream come true and I've been working towards it for almost a year.

I'm now a lawyer for the statewide protection and advocacy organization concerning disabled people and their issues. It is free for our clients and the organization does both individual cases and systemic issues, so the variety can be mind-boggling.

I'm over the moon happy.

Hey, nice one. If I wind up doing ILEX through the new role (I'm a paralegal now) and qualify into being an actual lawyer, I'd want to go into court of protection stuff which sounds like what you're doing or the closest analogue.

We bought a new stove, which includes an oven. Which is amazing because the old one hadn't been functioning for four years and two of the four burners not for the past year and a half or so. Pizza, I can have homemade pizza again B)

Additionally, mom's on vacation for the next three weeks, meaning I have the new stove for myself to make ALL the pizza

Finished a bloody huge hump of work. Now I can slack off for a few days. Maybe even make a short weekend beach getaway. Really need to relax a bit.

My mom's bought a new car and she gave her VW Golf mk5 to me as basically a belated birhtday present. It's a combi and I've just realised that if I put a cheap sleeping pad in the trunk I can fold the backseats and sleep in it perfectly comfortably. Not sure which of the two things is making me happier.

Don't forget to get your glasses for eclipse tomorrow. And for anyone in the path of totality sit and rotate.

I think here we're only going to be about 50-60%, which is still cool but yeah...no totality. Of course, I'm going to be working so it's not like I would have been seeing it anyway. (Things at work are getting very Big Brother / "we're watching everything you do" lately, so asking for some time off to eclipse-view was not an option).
For those who are going to see it, enjoy!

Made a list of people I *must* invite to my 30th birthday yesterday. Easily topped 40 people.

Even though I don't consider myself an especially social person, it still amazes me from time to time how many people I actually know in this life. Makes me think I must be doing something right, no matter how slowly.

A couple months ago our two dogs started fighting and we had to separate them after each one and they were starting to happen every day and we had to just leave them separated. This should be messing with my groove but after three weeks of the problem starting and getting worse we called in Bark Busters. They are a dog training company that have locations all over the USA and in several other countries and they send a rep to your house to observe and start a training program for your dogs. For now the dogs have to remain separated while we work towards reintegration but we have huge improvement on the older one who was picking the fights and our rep is really positive that if we continue the training as well as we have we should be able to keep both dogs and once again have a happy fight free household. Our dogs are our babies especially since our four year struggle to have kids has not had any results so the thought of getting rid of one of them was devastating. We were willing to do whatever to fix the problem and Bark Busters has a program that you pay a one time fee and they will come to your house and consult with you for the life of the dogs. I know we are not out of the woods yet and still have some weeks before full integration is possible but our rep is really happy with our progress and even my pessimism is giving way to optimism. Seeing that light at the end of the tunnel is making me happy.
