There was some seriously delicious food at the graduation ceremony. I'm so full I'm rolling around rather than walking.

I'm quite sad that I'm not going to be seeing some people from uni as regularly as I've gotten used to anymore, but the fact that all four of us who started the course together also finished it together, and passed with fyling colours, too, makes me a happy Puck. It seems like all four of us had independently hatched the same secret plan to make that happen, hahah.

Congratulations, Puck ;)

My son is running around the house shouting 'Eat hot death!' (comes out as 'Eet ot eth') and 'Anaan!' (Qunari for victory) because he managed to find where I hid his crayons.

I think I'm doing this parenting thing right. ;)

Enjoy! Watch out for support band Lacrota! Mate of mine is their guitarist.

Which guitarist do you know? I've spoken with Stu before it turns out as he used to know someone from a different forum I've posted on (small world again). They had me at SHODAN.

Pete, his partner is one of my closest friends, hence how we met. I vaguely know who Stu is though - the live music scene in Sheffield is pretty small and incestuous, so most people know or have bumped into each other at some point!

Ah, good stuff! I'm quite surprised by their EP - their vocalist sounds a LOT better on his high screams live than on the EP (usually the converse is true). But musically it's right up my alley. In terms of sound, I'd describe them as a blend of Gojira, Lamb of God and Black Crown Initiate.

Just printed out a 22-page report after much procrastination. It looks so pretty.

Just got back from an evening with Irvine Welsh. His crack was brilliant, and he signed our lasses book "Theresa the bawbag!" Haha.

I live in the boonies. One of the downsides is terrible dsl speeds but they doubled the speed a couple of months ago. 1.2Mb download is fantastic.

It’s my other half’s birthday this week so I am cakeplotting! Made this Guild Wars cake last year, so thinking of doing the new Heartof Thorns expansion artwork this time. Excited and “why-do-I-do-this-to-myself”all at once!

My brother successfully caught a bus and train to go to a friend's place.

He has barely left the house since he moved in with us so it's kind of a big deal. ;)

EDIT:

My Cassandra Believer Plate Hoodie just arrived and it is FREAKIN AWESOME!

My bosses officially confirmed that once my articling term's over and once I have my license, they will keep me on as a lawyer.

I have solved the future employment problem for the next year and a bit, at the very least.

Propane bottle + a length of torch hose + piece of steel pipe == redneck flamethrower.

:)

After several months of forcing myself to work out 4-5 times a week I now have a visible sixpack again. It's weird how great that makes me feel. Now all I need to do is to retain this for as long as I am able, and with the amount of beer I drink that means I'll have to keep up the work out schedule for... the rest of my life I guess.

I have my dog in agility classes to build up her confidence. After spending a month terrified of everything, she now does jumps like a boss. Still will not approach that tunnel though...LOL.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

What Gnaw said. Now I wish I would have put this in the groove thread cause both my arms are soar as hell now. I was low on propane so I couldn't crank the flame up as high and thus had to bend and extend my arms this burning round. That thing gets heavy after an hour.

Uh, why were you igniting a ditch? Is this part of the anti-fire ant campaign?

Working out is like brushing your teeth. It's a hygiene issue.

I signed up for more classes at a local school..I could be going for my Masters, but have Zero interest in this as I have done a class here and there to gauge--The last thing our world needs is another MBA.

So I'm signing up for classes in my Hobby instead... which really has zero career relevance/advancement to me....just for fun. I figure posting it is good way to hold myself accountable...

Welding 1
Basic Machinist Process
Blueprint Reading for Machinists
And
Metal Shaping

and next:

Arc Welding
Advanced Machining Process
Milling 1
Lathe 1

Maybe--Maybe: CNC stuff after..the point is to learn this skill-set--by hand.

I have always felt like the day you stop learning is the day your dead. I have been trying to learn via youtube/books, but keep hitting roadblock's in what I can accomplish myself and actually absorb...making mistakes/etc. Tell you if I stick to it!!

The manual stuff is tough. I can give very limited help there. The CNC stuff and machining theory however I am pretty proficient in as I work in a machine shop :) Let me know if there is anything I can help with.
