We had a birthday picnic for Sombra Jnr on Saturday at the local coucil waterpark. My mum got to meet the in laws and a few others and the little guy had a ball crawling through the water spouts as did his cousins.

Then after that the brother-in-law and I helped out a neighbour when a fire broke out in the gully across the road from us. No damage to property thank goodness, but I now know not to put sugarcane straw mulch on any garden I may ever bother with, that stuff went up like crazy when some flying embers hit it. Took out maybe a hectare of scrub due to all the dry grass and the tress still had embers burning all night and into today, so we kept an eye on it.

On the down side, my Order of the Stick evilgasm tshirt got totally covered with soot etc when the firies turned up and started blasting with their high pressure hoses. Hopefully Napisan will get it out without ruining the print.

Today, it's the little things. After coming home from shooting one of lowest scores ever for the indoor archery competition, my girlfriend made me a cup of tea and a sandwich. Those kind of things make me happy.

Been to a Wing Chun seminar tonight with Beijing Sifu Wang Zhi Peng. An eye opener to say the least, I'm now suffering a mental overload. It was excellent came away with a Tshirt and a sore arm.

For those in the know, this guy chi-saued on one leg, and he was like a rock. Unbelievable. A different class.

second day at work today. could be getting my own work station and all the software set up soon, this shit seems very learnable and doable. bring on the orders!

Wife went to the ER Sunday morning as she couldn't feel the little one moving around. By Sunday evening we where officially parents after the doctor decided that a c-section was in order. So "Little" Beardface was born Nov 3, 2013 @ 8:57pm at 7 lbs 3 oz and a month early. Unfortunately he had to go to the neonatal intensive care unit and be put on a ventilator as his lungs where not fully developed. But today they took him off the ventilator and he's breathing on his own. All and all a supremely stressful couple of days but well worth it.

Life is pretty peachy right now. I've been jobless for 7 working days, cutting down trees in the garden and chopping firewood (I have my first ever axe (and a file for sharpening it which I've been doing while I watch TV)!) and seeing friends. Tomorrow I'm making chutney and demolishing ugly fitted wardrobes and on Friday I'm going to Munich for a few days. It's all rather dull (apart from Munich) but I'm terribly contented - Mr PigDog has even accused me of being "nice".

If you're there on Sunday and it's your thing, some of the major art museums let you in for a euro on Sunday iirc. Depends how nice a day it is too.

Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych (twice convicted) was declared "missing" by Russian State TV. As per his own site, on Saturday he planned an urgent visit to Russia for Sunday.

The plane left Kyyiv, never arrived in Russia. Ukrainian president is "missing"

All Uki Internet comments about this can be roughly split into two categories

Category 1: "He's missing? Thank God! Good riddance!"
Category 2: (@ Category 1) "Shut the **** up! You'll jinx it, and he'll turn up!"

Reading such comments is making me happy.
