The forum shenanigans removed 19 rep from my total, which while annoying means I can hit over 1000 for the second time now. Which is nice. *prepares "YOU LOVE ME! YOU REALLY LOVE ME!" speech*

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.

I'm trying to pretend that the forum not being here didnt trouble me. And that's making me happy, because it has to do with the forums. ( see how the lack of forum messed with my head?)

I don't know if that was deliberate, but that brought several ... unsavoury ... images to mind. Unless you meant that, in which case you knew where my mind was going to go. Which is a pretty safe bet usually. :p

I just ate a whole 500ml tub of Homer Hudson Chocolate Rock ice cream for breakfast. To quote the immortal Donna Summer: "I feel loooooooooooooooooooooove"

Why couldn't they just make like 30 of these for the prequels?

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Because nobody says "George, that's an interesting idea, but we need to focus here."

And because merchandising drives Lucas more than delivering a quality movie.

Pixar is possibly falling into this trap too with the Cars movies (terrible ratings in comparison to other movies, but enormous merchandising sales).
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

True.

Also true, sadly.

At what point do film-makers stop trying to make more money from current projects so they can go on to make (hopefully) better movies, and instead just make movies purely as cash-cows? Is it from day 1 when they realise they are almost totally beholden to the money-men who are concerned only with profits and shareholder dividends? Or is it later, when they "grow up" under the system? Or (in George's case) is it egomania and greed left to run rampant sans any kind of reality check because his associates are all either the same sort of people of just sycophants determined not to risk their places at the trough?

Wow. Sorry to kill the mood. :p

On the other hand, that Old Republic trailer was SWEET. A bit of a Star wars (Or A New Hope for you young'uns) knockoff, but tres cool all the same. I'm actually looking forward to playing this game. I just hope it doesn't go the way of Galaxies (boo! ) or most other stuff George touches these days has done in the last 30 years.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

I think Attack of the Show said they hit Bethesda(Elder Scrolls makers).

they;ve hit a lot of people, including AOL, At&T, Sony, FBI, Minecraft, EVE, Bethesda, Bioware, one of the Battlefield beta databases, the government of Arizona, the Escapist magazine, and the NATO Bookstore.

These are just off the top of my head, there's probably lots more.
