Gigs out the asshole lately. We played on Monday 24th, Saturday 29th and we have another show on this coming Sunday opening for Pupil Slicer.
Also we've tracked drums for the EP and they're sounding pretty monstrous. Our Instagram (Balgurra) has some snippets if anyone is interested.

Gotta hug a wombat, quokka, and/or Tassie Devil.
Pedantic bear says quokkas are on islands off the coast of Western Australia, most famously Rottnest Island near Perth and Bald Island near Albany.
For comparison, you're going to say ... Key West, Florida and the quokkas are on Catalina Island, California.
Wombats and Koalas can be huggy (depending), but I don't suggest you try your luck with a Tassie Devil. Those things are psycho.

There are quokkas on Catalina Island, coincidentally.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Quokka to me sounds like an Australian affectionate insult.
"Come on you great quokka, we'll sort it out!"
"Tsundoku you daft quokka put that down!"
Etc.

Hmm hmm, I would let a Tassie Devil shred my arms for the Instagram picturesque moment.
I'll see what the good petting zoos look like when I'm there.

Finished the Indy Mini Marathon (the greatest spectacle in running lol) in 1 hour 53 minutes. Average mile time of 8:40.
I'm sore lol.

Got a new bike! First time since I was about 13. It's true you never forget how to ride one! Me and the little 'un went out for a couple of hours ride. Hearing the wind in your ears as you bomb down a hill is just awesome. Given it's the first time I've been on a long bike ride in over 20 years my legs have been slowly seizing up over the rest of the day. Things really really hurt. My ass is the least of it.

I have my renewed passport in hand after a rush appointment, which means I can go to Australia and Tasmania on Sunday.
Super happy.

Enjoy. Remember to stay a healthy distance away from the Tassie Devils.
They have the most fucked-up growl if you go to see them at the Hobart zoo.

I have an Aussie cattle dog. The first night I had him, he did the famous scream chirp bark at 1:30 AM. I am 90-95% deaf. It woke me up from a sound sleep.
I yelled at him to not do that, he seemed to take the message and has done it maybe 2x more during play sessions outside with another dog in the 3 years I've had him. Most of the time, he's utterly silent or does some grunts and regular barks when trying to alert on someone outside the house.
Aussie critters have messed up vocals I suppose.

Still in the hospital but hopefully getting out this afternoon. Right now though, I’m enjoying a fairly decent steak dinner! My hospital rocks!

Wife is working solidly the next two weeks - today and Friday as a GCSE exam invigilator and then Wednesday Thursday as a teaching assistant, then as a TA next week.
She also interviewed for a company yesterday and subject to a clean DBS check she has a conditional employment offer for a WFH customer service job. Which is mega because if our income goes even up to £2.5k a month globally, it opens our finances up MASSIVELY. Especially given we've learned how to live on basically dick all.
The challenge now is that because I am primarily WFH (when she starts working full time I'll have to go into Wakey on Tuesdays) we need to convert somewhere in the house to an office space for her - and it's likely to have to be the corner of the main bedroom. And we'll have to work with our respective office doors shut, which sort of sucks, but hey, EMPLOYMENT!!!!
