Every time I come back to this thread this dating protocol thing has gotten more humorous and more chaotic. You guys are the best!

At the in laws for a week. Luckily my in laws are pretty awesome.
I’ve already eaten my weight in mince pies, getting ready to dig into the white chocolate dipped pretzels.

I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

Last day at work was today! Next time I gotta be there is the 7th.
Almost 2 weeks of relaxing, reading, tuning up my gaming PC and gaming. Life's looking up.

Yep, that your Tactical Response Group (or UK equivalent) guys. With a ruler. And HK MP-5s.
You forgot about the silly string, cheezewhiz, and confetti.

Nonsense, the artificial reef is positively thriving and I'm told none of the orbital debris is likely to maintain integrity post-atmospheric re-entry.

Just talked to my brother for almost an hour, which... is unheard of. It also means he's doing better, as especially the past year he'd been very down with how stuff was (not) going and it was difficult to keep up a conversation as he'd be constantly stressed and would not look anyone in the face. He got his old job at the university offered back to him this year and he'S almost done a 180 since and I'm so glad to see him perking up and laughing again.
I'm also very proud of him helping others the way he does. He's been helping out in the local community and teaching middle schoolers computer stuff and one of the boys (5th grade) stole money from him. Instead of telling the boy he could never come back there, my brother had a long talk with him about how you treat people and about closing doors you might end up needing later. Reminds me of how much of the stuff I find important or right were taught me by my brother since our parents divorced when I was 3 and my brother 19.
I hope I can finally manage to go visit in 2020

I really can't believe I found a hobby that doesn't involve computers, but is active and challenging. Feeling really happy about that.

Boiled
Simple guide to making plain boiled rice
Soak the rice grains in water for 20-30 minutes
Boil water in a pot, and release the rice grains in it when the water is boiling.
Let the rice boil. Do not stir it. Occasionally use a ladle to lift up some grains to check if they have softened enough.
When done, strain off the starchy water. Let rice rest for a bit before eating.

Counterpoint: sticky rice.
... or pilaf or pilau or coconut or biryani or anything else because with due respect to the billions or so who eat it as a staple of their diet, steamed rice is boiled potato boring.
