Technically, the view from Mercury would be terrible. The atmosphere is 1) lethal and 2) has way too many clouds of deadly gases to make the stars and planets visible. >.>

Mercury, like our Moon, has no atmosphere to speak of. You're thinking of Venus. The view of the outer Solar System from Mercury's dark side would be spectacular, but it's like the second coldest place in the SS, so bundle up!
