How long did it take you to convince him to read the book? I'm just trying to convince some friends of mine. All of them are getting the same birthday gift. ;)

Took my younger brother maybe five years to start reading Malazan. He's on Reaper's Gale now after about a year of reading off and on. Enjoys it and will probably never join this board.

Booked my girlfriend and I a fortnight in Corfu for £456 each including travel insurance, found out I got about 10% more on my bastard hard exam for my current OU module (was expecting 45%, got 55%, shit sucked) and also got my tax rebate for this year revealed; I overpaid by £2200 so now I'm just trying to claim that shit back, moo hoo ha ha
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I have tried it now for more than three years. One of the main problems is that the German publisher decided to split every book aside from Gardens of the Moon (I hate you Blanvalet!!!). And if someone asks me how many books I have to say 19 if you want to read it in German. Discourages most people somehow. Posted Image

He said Corfu, not Gatineau.

Tonight marks the first of the two Portugal. The Man shows that I've been spouting off about for months.

The place I'm seeing them at tonight is tiny! I'm talking standing room capacity of 300 tiny. I think my emotions are currently cycling through all of the different emoji options.

I never have read the Dutch versions.

Seen a copy of Deadhouse Gates in a bookstore years ago, picked it up from the shelve and put it back in a few minutes.

Horrible translation errors (It's Seven Cities and not Sevencity) and I had a distinct feeling that it was translated from the German version (The German name of the series is "Das Spiel der Götter" and the Dutch name of the series is "Het spel der goden" which is an exact translation)

Scored a Switch this week , bam downloaded a ton of neogeo games... Broke out my old Dreamcast and just scored the retro SNES mini... Been on like a 10 year break from video games so fun to come back.

(this of course is the danger of a Phoenix summer of course.. It's been brutally humid this year + hot.. So weird !)

3 hour nap, followed by dinner and wine with parents in our backyard. I'm feeling almost human again.

Against all better judgement, it seems that I will be going to Prague with Studly in October. Any recommendations?

Does anyone else have kids who use Kid K'Nex?

How awesome is it? :)

Ripley made a bunch of sea creatures this morning by following the picture instructions that came with the pieces.

Waiting until tonight so I can play with them myself. ;)

There's a statue of St. Wenceslas (I think that should be right, never understood why it's know as that, the person's name was Václav, Wenceslas is a Polish version of the name) that might be worth seeing, but otherwise agree. Don't miss Orloj - the Icarium's astronomical clock.

Charles bridge, Old town(and the rest of the historical center) and Prague castle with St. Vitus Cathedral are a must. Although the castle is on the opposite side of river than Old town itself., the old town around the castle is called "Little side". Expect crowds.

You should definitely just take a walk from Old Town south along the Vltava (or vice versa) in the evening

Letná park, it's not far from the center and there are nice views, there's a giant metronome in the middle of it, a cool place overally

Vítkov is a platform/square on top of a hill where a significant battle took place in 1420, there's a giant statue of Jan Žižka and a nice view too

And I guess that's it from places that I've been to recently

Petřín Lookout Tower, should be worth climbing, never been there myself

if you want to ask about something/need anything I could help with feel free to PM me anytime
