Got out of the office 2 hours early. Finished last-minute shopping (mostly beer), and ready for the long weekend at the beach. Life is gooood

Playing the Original Mass Effect, must say the graphics aren´t that bad. Quite enjoying the game.

My mother's operation went well. Some swelling and soreness, but otherwise she is fine, if a bit grumpy.

For those who haven't already seen me jumping about like a basket full of frogs on Facebook about her, this is what that little ball of fluff kestrel looks like now:

She did her first bit of introductory work on the lure today - so just accustoming her to the idea that the lure is essentially something she associates with food. She's very imprinted to people from her week with me - apparently this means I did a really great job! - but she still hit the lure first time like a bullet, and proceeded to do so over and over again seemingly just to prove she's a genuine badass and it wasn't just a fluke.
TRB, hopelessly in love

Cool pic too! I wish her eye was directly overlying your left eye - if she was up an inch you'd have an amazing shared-face image!
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Currently word has gone around that the doctor has told my mother to eat ice cream and now everyone is turning up with bricks of it!
Yum! And ice cream can be so easily shared, too. Just sneak a few scoops to "test it out" and such.

Glad to hear that it went well, and I hope the medical / dental stuff is sorted quickly.

There are really no downsides whatsoever to having a house full of ice cream!

Chicken broth.
I managed to stay up an xtra 2 hours last night so was able to see Venus rising for the first time in 2 years. It's better then the setting. Such a brilliant jewel in the sky to look at.

Chicken broth is actually a great idea BK. I will suggest it tomorrow.

Finished Mass Effect yesterday and this time around I was able to transfer my character into Mass Effect 2.
Bonus is that ME2 works with Cloud Saves now like Andromeda does so I can switch in between playing on my desktop and my laptop.

Rain on the long weekend? What rain?
I'm fairly sure I haven't had such bad sunburn in a while. But good times, and I'm mostly feeling ok. Might even make it to work on time. Although Sun to Mon I only slept like 4 h, yest I crashed around 1ish, and slept the full 8 hours, so feeling decently refreshed.

I'm on a roll man, 3 nights of staying up for that beautiful planet in the sky!
Can y'all imagine the view of Venus, Earth and the Moon from Mercury? That would be so bright. This is because from there you would see the full planets since they are outside from it in orbit. It would like a yellow, blue& white balls of gleaming fire.
Why haven't I invested in a good amateur telescope as much as I sit and stargaze at night? Stupid Tanner.

Technically, the view from Mercury would be terrible. The atmosphere is 1) lethal and 2) has way too many clouds of deadly gases to make the stars and planets visible. >.>
Just saying.

It looks like I'm gonna avoid having my back peel due to sunburn. And because it wasn't a terrible burn, it's now converted into a half-decent tan. WIN!

Daughter took her first few unassisted/non-cruising (not holding onto objects) steps today.
My fatherhood emotions are in overdrive and I'm weeping at the video my wife sent of it to me at work. She's growing so fast!

I just have to get through the rest of this workday, and then tomorrow's and boom, two weeks of glorious vacation.
Many books shall be read, lots of food will be eaten, much sleep will be...slept.
