I find the eps shiny and pretty to look at but boringly predictable and trite.

I can watch it if it's on but i won't go out of my way.

Really? Huh.

I guess finding it boringly predictable slides by with me cause even the original trilogy is pretty predictable. ...

i think i've hit a point with like everything where if i know what's going to happen next i just

Funny to read this in hindsight given how utterly I enjoyed later seasons.

I think most of the discussion for Clone Wars is in http://forum.malazan...80#entry1207334 now, but that also contains spoilers for the whole run of the show. So, I guess, stick here for now :p

For any who might need it, here is a pretty solid little list of S1-5 arcs and eps that are worth your time (including honourable mentions) from each season...in case you want to skip the filler, or eps which don't pertain to anything important.

spoilered for image size (no idea how created this image list, but kudos to them)

so thanks to QT's link i was able to watch some episodes. The later season have a vastly different tone than the earlier seasons and im enjoying them more. Just finished the slaver arc in s4 and jesus christ, how the hell did this get past the censors this aint kid show material.

Earlier season i hated for how cartoony the villains were but i am enjoying this.

Don't forget to check out S6 as well (on Netflix)...the Yoda arc is particularly important to understanding the Force itself and Force Ghosts.

Yes, it was commissioned by Netflix from Lucasfilm after the Cartoon Network cancelled TCW after Season 5.

Season 6 is called The Lost Missions, and is a slightly different format. It's only 13 episodes, as opposed to 22, and I THINK it jumps around a bit timewise.

There are some great arcs in it...but the Yoda one is the best hands down. The eps for his are called VOICES, DESTINY, and SACRFICE.

Ugh S2 ep 9... Grevious and Obiwan are ft away from each other and yet they are meeting for the 1st time at the start of Ep 3. Sigh I give up. Rebels is so much better.

There is nothing to indicate in Ep3 that it is the first time Obi-Wan meets Grievous, in fact it would make no sense if that were the case as he doesn't act like its a big deal in Ep 3 when he meets him...that's some one who knows him.

After the events of the Clone Wars and having seen Grievous run away so many times...the Obi-Wan who immediately jumps up to face him is so overconfident in Ep3 that the backstory about how much of a chicken Grievous is makes sense and how he dies so quickly in ROTS.

I get that the clone wars was written after, but Filoni and crew do an admirable job of giving the clone wars proper gravitas.

And you should use the info graphic I posted above to watch only the important eps and skip the fluff. There are between 5 and 8 solid eps per season...you can skip everything else.

Question from the noob:

I only saw the 2003 Clone Wars, and season 1 of the 2008 version. Did it improve after season 1?

Also is this part of the disavowed Expanded Universe?

It was always hit or miss, some episodes in most seasons great some where horrendously bad. Some of the best stuff came at the end or at least the last two seasons. In general I think the clone wars series is way stronger then the prequel trilogy but selective viewing of episodes might be best anything with a certain long eared creature is best skipped for one. Quick Tidals list above seems pretty solid if a bit too selective.

QTs list is all good but you can really just start each and bail (heehee...) if it seems frivolous. The good eps will pretty much always hold your attention and the series is done in such a way that even the connected 2, 3, 4 part stories are easy to follow.

Hah, nice scene with Satine and Obi wan in a hostage situation - 'Who will act first? Who will become a cold blooded killer?' Cue Anakin's lightsabre pushing out from his chest..

I'd say that if you want to watch them, set out to watch them all - if one starts grating for some reason, just skip on to the next.

I'm really enjoying them. Especially the ones with links to Rebels, and the occasional hints of Anakin's early 'unconventional' use of the force.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Hah, just watched those. Followed by another mostly skipped Padme-heavy ep, which was balanced out by the 'cloaked' ship one which was much better (despite the sudden appearance of tech that creates total invisibility.. wtf?)

It was so trying to be Hunt for Red October - even down to the sonar pings!

I really like the ship designs from Clones - the early form of the Star Destroyers especially.

I have started watching these and so far while I like certain parts, I wouldn't say I am crazy about them. I just finished watching the season 1 episode regarding the Lair of Grievous and it immediately brought up certain issues I have always had with the way the Jedi do things

Here the two Jedi and their clone escort have a good opportunity to ambush Grievous. Instead of trying for quick death blows they try to capture him and obviously fail. Why try to capture him when you can kill him? He is a notorious killer of Jedi after all.

Then there are the plot holes: A trapdoor opens and one of the Jedi is barely able to hold a clone up with his arm. Why not use the force?

In the previous episode when they were transporting the head of the banking clan their cruiser had no escort and no fighers keeping an eye out though they were transporting an important enemy captive.

I know its basically light entertainment but stuff like this can grate a bit

From the ep list it looks like S3 has a lot of 'flashback' episodes. I'm just finished S2.

Just watched the first two eps of season 3.

I quite liked the flashback to season 1, with the training of 'heavy', the recruit from ep 5.

There have been some moments where i feel like i missed an episode, but it looks like it was done on purpose; the list I've got for season 3 looks like it has quite a few flashback episodes to the previous two seasons.

Don't worry too much about spoilers unless you think it's something major. I'm watching this for the first time, alongside Rebels, and I'm getting through around 2 or 3 an evening if I get the chance.

Cool to see Slave 1 again - although the cockpit was suddenly built for a group rather than a single pilot. I thought Mace would have at least tried to make Boba see reason, to defuse his anger and help him deal with his trauma - instead he just pretty much says, Get over it!
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Hah, I'm pretty much doing the same, BK. Although I don't know if I'll finish CW before the 17th.

Enjoying the hell out of it all though - I'm sure that The Force Awakens title is an intentional reference to the effect the new movie is having on the OT generation.

(I went in a toy shop yesterday while xmas shopping - there were two adult men furtively looking through the new SW figures.. 'for their kids'.. heh.)
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

just watched the 4 parter at the end of s4. Really enjoyed it. I don't know how half the stuff made it into a children's tv show.
