So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Same. But then Whiskeyjack used to spar with Dassem Ultor, and he wasn't half bad either, and all he needed to do was hold him off for a bit till Tayschrenn awoke and blasted seven shades of crap out of Kallor.

Stupid question: In MT it is mentioned that something like Mother Dark is imprisoned by the K'chain(usw) with light all around her and one one day she will die. Is this another Mother Dark?

I don't remember this at all, got a quote?

Personally, MT is about the Edur and Letherii empires and they have a very misinformed vision of their past, so it could just be someone's incorrect perception of something.

what your ref'ing, throne, is the k'chain matrons deathspell. it simply means that one day the universe will end, time will end. now clearly this effects MD in a large way, but the only place we hear of it from is fear sengar. so we dont really know the details or if he is correct at all.

The general idea was that everything was bound to "her", aye, but now that we know she has a corporeal form, its safe to assume what everything is bound to is more like a black hole represented as an aspect of MD.

alright, here's a question: The Revenants. Supposedly taken by Hood as his own personal soldiers, so where were they in Dragnipur?

just wondering.

I have several stupid questions for all the forum experts. I have only read the series through once, and I plan on waiting till tCG is done so I can read start to finish without waiting.

Are we supposed to know who saved Harllo? I think in an act of rich irony it would be Snell. Since Harllo is home I guess we'll never know.

What is One Eye Cat? (If this is something from NoK or RotCG then nevermind -- I need to read those).

I think that was about it. Still trying to mull over everything that happened. Damn, TtH was awesome.

It was Bellam Nom, Torvald and Rallick's young cousin, that saved Harllo.

I seem to remember that One Eye Cat is a city, maybe somewhere on Genebackis. I think we are given the continent but actual location.

I just went back and looked at the ending of TtH. When Rallick and Torvald catch up to Bellam he has a broken arm. I must have glazed over that in my frenzy of awesomeness for the last 200 pages of TtH. For some reason, I thought that Venaz and Harllo were the same age (5-6 years old)? When the fight between the two was interrupped by Bellam, the way I read it was, it was another person of the same stature so I assumed a child. Maybe my impression of Venaz was wrong.

I picked up One Eye Cat was a city, but those Selugeh bodyguard's that Vorcan hired were from there. I caught some other references so I was curious if I somehow missed something with the Selugeh and chasing people into One Eye Cat. I thought they said a Malazan unit. The Selugeh are one of my favorite people in the series. The three brothers (including the Third?) was with Envy in MoI and I forgot whatever happened to them. They are obviously not with her anymore since she was in TtH and I didn't see them mentioned. Although, I think Fisher noted Selugeh statues in her garden. I can't remember exactly.

Thanks for the answers though. I appreciate it. =)

Yeah Bainisk and Venaz WERE the same age. I think that was another reason why Venaz was so pissed about the Bainisk/Harllo situation: Cause his best friend replaced him with a little dude. Also I could be wrong but I think One Eye Cat was also an island off Genabackis I don't think there was much (if any) mention of it in any of the other SE books but it might be in the ICE books like you said. I haven't read those either. If anyone can confirm the Brood mountain thing that would be good. Lastly I'm pretty sure the three Seguleh are still with Envy. I forget who goes in to see her in TtH but he's greeted by a seguleh door keeper and Envy later refers to him as Thurule who was the middle one in GotM

So much was happening and I read so fast. Was there ever a resolution to the guy that hired the assassins' guilde to kill all the retired Bridgeburners?

Yes, he will quite likely feature in ICE's Darujhistand/Tyrant novel.

Quote

With this sorcery, they turned Darkness in upon itself with a hunger none who came too close could defy, an all-devouring hunger that fed first and foremost upon itself.’ His voice was strangely muted as he spoke. ‘Kaschan sorcery was sent into the warren of Mother Dark, like a plague. Thus was sealed the gate from Kurald Galain to every other realm. Thus was Mother Dark driven into the very core of the Abyss, witness to an endless swirl of light surrounding her - all that she would one day devour, until the last speck of matter vanishes into her. Annihilating Mother Dark. Thus the Kaschan, who are long dead, set upon Mother Dark a ritual that will end in her murder. When all Light is gone. When there is naught to cast Shadow, and so Shadow too is doomed to die.

This was the exact quote from MT.

Quote

'Then the Empress is a fool,' Dujek said, his tone hard. 'The conscripts are next to useless, Adjunct, and by this time next year the Crimson Guard will have liberated Nisst, Treet, One Eye Cat, Porule, Garalt and—'

This is from GotM. Not very relevant.

Quote

Brood shrugged. 'Auxiliary units have been assembled to replace them. A Saltoan Horse Regiment, four clans of the Barghast, a mercenary company from One Eye Cat, and another from Mott—'

A mercenary company from One Eye Cat... interesting. OEC is in North Genabackis, a bit east of Blackdog Forest.
