I only read through the first 4 pages of the topic, but I have a dumb question:
What the heck was the significance of the TTG scene with the harpies and Jaghut curse? To point out wreckers are the scum of the earth? To show us yet again that there are random Jaghut everywhere - some that still have marital problems? To further the characterization of the shareholders? What?

Stupid question: why are draconic ascendants so opportunistic? Envy, Spite, Manandore, Sheltatha Lore, and the Dappled One all seem to be drifting through life with no real plan. Osric, Silchas and Rake are like the only real exceptions.

Two part answer
1) they aren't. Shorn, Rud, Olar Ethil are all examples of draconic ascendents who are actually fairly altruistic. Ossi, Rake and Silch all have their own issues, but Rake and Silch at least had some loyalty to their people.
2) Based on what we've seen, Ossi is a bit of a bastard (pun intended) and Scabby was a complete one. The others ones you mention, Envy, Spite, Manandore, Sheltatha Lore, and Sukul (skipping the usual debate about whether Envy is draconic and no, that's not an invite for anyone to re-open it), however, are part of a VERY messed up family of immortals, hence, they have issues. Big issues. hell, they have VOLUMES.
Plus there's a big question mark about Krul, Draconus and any other Elder Gods who are or were draconic.
Point being, it's fairly individual. The five female draconics you point to are the daughters of Tiam and Ossi, Tiam and Scabby, or Sheltana and Draconus back when he was a complete dick.

Good points, AByss. There's also another fact to consider. The dragons of old, the true eleint, were known as troublemakers to put it mildly. They were chaotic creatures and you only have to look at dragons like Telorast and Curdle and the three chained in Shadow to see how ambitious and fickle they can be.
I believe that in the blood of the eleint lies chaos, and while they also get a distant viewpoint on the world and patience that would beggar a rock, it also brings a taste for destruction. Ruin, in RG, refrains from shifting form because he's afraid what he'll do if he lets his emotions run free. A.E. He'd tear through the Edur and Letherii like a cleenex at a snotparty.

Tiam, I believe, is the elder god of chaos.
It cant be the CG. One, he's not from the right dimension. Two, MoI prologue, he is described as a young and naive god of that realm. Not old enough to be an elder of one of the two beginning forces.
We have MD, elder of Order/Darkness.
Tiam, elder of Chaos.
Rake and other draconic soletaken are often described as having Tiams chaotic blood.
Rake messed up the balance of things even worse, possibly, by killing Tiam.
She doesnt stay dead, but he seems to have done the best job of anyone we know.
It is possible she cannot come back to life while all her blood is in other beings, eleint, draconic soletaken etc.
Also, I believe that the eleint who are warren aspected, lost some of that chaos, or at least had it balanced.
So yes, i'm pretty certain Tiam is chaotic, and through her/her blood, the eleint and draconic soletaken are also.

@Grief
I agree with that. Call it a GotM, but Chaos is described as the eldest Warren of them all, and later so is Starvald Demelain. The Spar Of Andii... IF Tiam was chaotic, then Rake and Co(the Andii family) had to visit Chaos to get her, and perhaps they met upon the Spar of Andii.

That could just be mis-interpretation.
KG/SD/Chaos all seem to have came at around the same time.
I think the truth is, no-one really knows. We know MD/Tiam were the first(with the EGs existing as "elemental forces" away from the limelight), with the EGs/Tiste andii coming into being soon after, but the timeline is muddy. I think all three came into existence almost simultaneously. It doesnt matter much anyhow, which was first.
We dont even really know if the EGs(in non elemental force form) came before or after the andii.

It's generally accepted that there is a link between Eleint and Chaos. I like the theory that this results in a volatility in draconics. Certainly you have hardcases like Rake and Silch who keep themselves under control, and Ossi who is just a dick, but when you trickle the blood down a generation, draconics like Sukul are just a lot more impetuous and angry. That didn't seem to carry from Menandore to Rud tho'.
We really don't know a lot about Tiam, beyond the draconic elements and that she's a skanky ho. By example, was she ALWAYS draconic, or did she become that way, perhaps by contact with a pureblood eleint? Was it her who made Draconus and Krul draconic back in the day? And what's with the dying and reborn thing - rhetorical or actual death? Rake drank her blood and then brought four friends along for the party (Korlat, Orfantal, etc...). I could see the blood drinking in a rhetorical sense once her and Rake were sheboining, but either that was one hell of an orgy or Tiam really was lying there bleeding out at some point.... plus Silch of course - unclear whether he was at the same orgy or did his thing later.
I also like the theory that she ran out of blood mojo and stopped reborning.
In TB when Iccy and Mappo find Sorrit's body they speculate that something strange would happen to anyone who drank that blood, which implies that's a logical thing to do when one has a dragon bleeding out in front of you, at least in ascendent circles.
- Abyss, should note again that Tiam is a skanky ho skanky ho skanky ho.....
