It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Daniel Day Lewis or Jeremy Irons could work well as Kallor. I can see them both doing it, though I favor Lewis over Irons (Eragon and Dungeons & Dragons were worthless).

Paran - James McAvoy ( Wanted )

Quick Ben - Mos Def. Always pictured him as Ben.
Kalam - No clue, really. Have to be a big ass dude. Maybe the Rock, but meh.
Fiddler - Easily Simon Pegg. I have my degree in Film: make-up does wonders, so he could easily look older. Than wouldn't be a problem. And, Fiddler ain't much of a fighter. "How much do you know about fighting," he asked. "Don't know much about fighting but I know how to survive 'em," Fiddler replied.

Some would be harder than others. Karsa, maybe Mickey Rourke. Icarium? No clue.

I always picture Iron Bars as a pretty big dude. JOHN CENA?!! afk shooting self.

Apsalar would have to be incredibly sexy and in her early to mid twenties. Thinking maybe a really light skinned black girl. Like Tiger Woods colored.

Jeremy Irons i thought would make a good Wj. That seen in Kingdom of heaven when he sorta snarls at all the people at the meeting reminds me of GOTM when Kalam is laying into apsalar and he comes in and they all scurry. The guy who played one of the Tremors (the big one) in smokin aces would be a good Trotts aswell

Cotillion should be Christian Bale...he could be very charming in the Batman movies, and Cotillion, while not slaughtering people with his rope, is quite charming.

This is the sexiest suggestion so far. I heartily endorse it, and now "Introduce A Little Anarchy" must be played whenever Cotillion is on the page, doing something badass... like eating toast. :(

Kalam: That dude who plays Raze in Underworld? We need someone, big, black but at the same time graceful...a tricky one.

I actually like you suggestion for Fiddler, although he isn't that old. In GoTM he's only a few years older than Paran.

Apsalar is Asian. I think we've come to some sort of agreement when it comes to her. Check the previous posts.

Rourke for Karsa?! Are you effin kidding? Karsa is a Teblor youth...in Deadhouse Gates he's seen only 17 summers according to Leoman.

Kevin Durand, hell yeah! I originally pitched him for Karsa but i think he might make a better Trotts. Excellent suggestion:)

Also, Christian Bale as the Rope FTW!

Ralph Fiennes might also be a good choice...

Need to find parts for:

Chris Evans (Murillio?)
Sigourney Weaver (Laseen?)
Jackie Chan (Skulldeath?)
Jada Pinkett Smith (hmmm... Hellian? Laseen? Or (!) Uruth Sengar)
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

Tricky tricky...here's what I've come up with:

Sigourney Weaver - Poliel

Jackie Chan - A Seguleh (Skulldeath is supposed to be quite good-looking, no?)

Chris Evans - not Murillio, I think. Murillio is tall and thin, and a dandy. Doesn't sound like Chris Evans to me. I'm thinking Ganoes, Toc the Younger or maybe Torvald Nom. Or one of the marines, Koryk maybe?

Jada might actually work as Laseen. Yes, I think it's a good choice...

Andy Serkis, yes. I don't think there's been better suggestions. He'd be good as ST, but not as Kellanved, I think. But he's never actually in the story, except for maybe in flashbacks, so it doesn't really matter :unworthy:

Yay...I'm popular.

How 'bout Forest Whitaker as Barathol? He's meaty enough.

Kallor must be christopher walken. If he stays dead pan like always its a no brainer. problem is his muscle mass. probably has to be Cg work or a body suit.

Anomander Rake for me has to be Cg black. like Dr Manhatten was CG blue if you get my drift. who acts as him becomes an issue but It has to be someone used to epic roles.

Traveller for me is Will smith. not too sure why but he can carry the emo role well enough I thinks

yeah meaty but not blackmith muscled... whitakers a tad flabby and i dont know that i've ever seen him in a shape i would consider barathol worthy

Not sure if he has already been mentioned but if you've seen sexy beast then surely Sir Ben Kingsley should get a look in on the Kallor role. Always thought Kaloor was a complex Baddy and Kingsley can do complex Badass. Plus he played Gandhi so would love the dichotony.

Unless you were deliberately trying to re-open the old debate of "who is Traveller?", then there is a problem with your list.
Since you have Will Smith as Traveller and LAnce Reddick as Dassem.

I think Lance Reddick is perfect for Dassem/Traveller as he has that really steely gaze, and can easily portray a serious air of intensity (watch "The Wire" for proof).

And i think Michael Clark Duncan would make a better BARATHOL since he really is huge and intimidating, but can inspire empathy too.
