Kallor should be played by Christopher Walken, obviously.

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Apologies Toste, Duiker is a Dal Honese but I've got this image of an obi-wan/ Derek Jacobi type in my head and it won't go away. I must purge myself immediatley !

However Ben Kingsley holds a bit of water, he is quite dark and menacing( sexy beast) and you wouldn't get to see his face that much.

While Kate Beckinsdale is hot, she is the wrong ethnicity for Apsalar.
Apsalar is Kanese, and I think the only descriptive feature we're given of the Kanese, is that their eyes have epicanthic folds (like many chinese people, mongolians, japanese, nepalese, inuit, and some american indians, as well as many others but you get the point).

Basically Apsalar should be played by an oriental actress if i'm not mistaken.

In which case the most logical choice would be someone like Zhang Zhiyi.
Or since a TV actress is a more likely scenario, you could have Kristin Kreuk (Lana) from Smallville.

And besides, Kate is way to old to play Apsalar- She's what? 12-13 the first time we meet her? I keep forgetting that many of the characters are quite young. Like Karsa, who's 17 when we meet him in Deadhouse Gates...so my suggestion of Kevin Durand is probably no good at all when I think about it.

Any good suggestions for Fiddler? I'm thinking that redhaired doctor from E.R. :D

I always thought Apsalar was closer to 16.

Also, I'm fairly sure that Karsa has been described (in House of Chains) as being around about 80 years old.

She's around 13 I think when she enlists in the army as Sorry, but I might be wrong.

About Karsa:

"You fancy no mortal could get that close to you without you hearing him. You tell yourself it must have involved magic. You are wrong. My companion is Toblakai, an escaped slave from the Laederon Plateau of Genabackis. He's seen seventeen summers and has personally killed forty-one enemies. Those are their ears on his belt.' - Deadhouse Gates

'Newly arrived to my eightieth year of life, finally a warrior in truth...' - House of Chains

What do we make of this? How old is he really?

I know the ethnicity is wrong but I think Morgan Freeman would make an awesome Whiskeyjack.
I always pictured Bult as looking like Bruce willis.
I agree with Jeremy Irons for Kallor
Again colour may not be perfect but I think Will Smith has the ability to do a good Quckben
Finally Robert Redford for Dujek

Character wise I think Morgan Freeman would be best as Duiker. He has that intelligent observer thing going for him
