I hate the fact that so many crappy TV shows keep coming back, yet there are some real gems that never get anywhere.
Two examples: Arrested Development - truly brilliant, very cleverly funny and very well written, only 3 seasons.
Pushing Daisies - Hilarious, yet in a weird morbid kind of way with a unique structure and genius concept. Only two seasons (though it was technically one season split in two cos of the writers strike...)

Yet some of the really crappy generic sitcoms get many seasons under their belt!

@Sir Thursday - Completely agree, The only bright spots in season 4 were the arrival of Lois Lane *drool* and the episode with the Flash - he is my favourite superhero.

supernatural season 4 finale - Awesome :) this show has been consistently top notch this year. really good, hoepfully its back next season, but in terms of ending on a cliff hanger, thats a doozie.

@ DiBs -Supernatural is back for another season at least (it was renwed a few months ago so it must be doing well for whatever network is showing it). Although I do hope they end it after next season, there is a danger in dragging series on to long.

I actually felt the finale was a bit of a let down, but maybe because i guessed what was going to happen about half a season ago. Still i really enjoyed the series overall.

Not looking forward to the fact that most of the shows that I watch are about to end for the summer, or have already ended. What the hell will i watch?

i think it was pretty obvious when they said lilith and the seal and she had to die. even before that it was obvious the angels wanted sam to turn darkside. but i still enjoyed it, especially pimp angels offering dean his favourite beers burgers and squeezes :D i had heard it would get renewed but i think that woul dhave been a good place to end, worried for season five with lucifer free and dean becoming an angel of the lord to combat him. though knowing the season openiners they will probably put him back in hell in s5 episode one :)

OK, so a good friend of mine is a producer in LA and he has been working on the latest series of Prison Break. He has said that on the DVD there will be a one (or maybe two I can't quite remember) hour special where they did a kind of "this is where we could have taken it, had we been allowed to" type thing. It sounds very good, by all accounts but at the same time I am quite glad they have finished it cos people need to know when to stop a good thing (Take note ABC...)

Ok, just watched the first episode of Krod Mandoon on BBC 2.

Not brilliant but not bad. Imagine a piss take of a medieval/fantasy story involving a hero who is an arse, his slutty pagan girlfriend, incompetent pigman slave, crap wizard who has NO magical ability, scouser assassins, random sidekick who is as camp as a row of tents and Matt Lucas as an Uber camp/crazy villain.

It did have a few LOL moments and a few uncomfortable silences but I will probably watch the next episode.
Now all the friends that you knew in school they used to be so cool, now they just bore you.
Just look at em' now, already pullin' the plow. So quick to take to grain, like some old mule.

I just finished the first season of Dexter and thought it was fucking awesome. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in a show where the protagonist is basically a heartless serial killer...but sympathetic.

edit: there's been 3 seasons (it's on showtime); another season is slated for next fall.

Anyone been keeping up with Kings? I see it's started airing again...on Saturdays, which means NBC must not think too highly of its ratings. Anyway, is it worth back getting into? I stopped watching around episode 4 or so, I think.

I've been watching it on Hulu. It's still very, very Shakespearean (goofy plot devices included). McShane, Thompson and Walker are absolute scene chewers.

I think this show is pretty far ahead of The Black Donnellys in terms of quality, if comparing passable high profile one-season flameouts.

Hmmm...I'll probably watch all the eps I missed at some point, then. I remember it being pretty interesting, and McShane's the man.

I watched the first episode of The Cleveland Show (the Family Guy spinoff). I was not very impressed. It pretty much sucked, and I didn't laugh once. Cleveland's just not a very good character, imo.

Anybody watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia? I just start watching this show and I must say it's hilarious. It has a glimpse of the humour that How I Met Your Mother employs, but I find it's pretty unique and the characters are memorable.

Has anyone heard of this Spartacus: Blood and Sand It's a show in the vein of Rome, but the look of the show is based off 300. It's produced by Sam Raimi is executive producer and it's not out until January.

Here's the trailer, if you didn't like the violence in 300, just so you know this clip has more of the same...

That looks terrific, Lobo. It looks almost like a hybrid of HBO's Rome and 300.

Anyhoo, I try not to miss Lie to Me and Criminal Minds, both of which are brilliant.
