2 eps in, not disappointed. The action is very solid, characters remain great fun.

Bidet.

So I decided to check out CRITICAL ROLE proper (podcast style; so I can listen on my way to and from work), and since they are already animating the Vox Machina campaign, I started instead with Campaign 2, The Mighty Nein....I'm only 2 episodes in but Laura as Jester has already made me bust a gut laughing twice.

Fucking hell...I've started something bigger than I thought didn't I?

Friday can't come soon enough with more VOX episodes!

You have no idea what you have started! You do realise you'll listen to Campaign 2, watch animated Campaign 1 and then you're going to realise that the animated show is so damn good all the way through that you now want to listen to Campaign 1... I'm not just saying this as a fan too but Campaign 1 is special!

Welcome to an overall 1000+ hours of content... you honestly won't look back.

And Laura as Jester is just a pure treat throughout the entire campaign.

Oh I know I will, and I know of the early days of sound issues and the kicking out of a cast member too...I'll probably do Campaign 2, and then jump back to 1 before diving into 3.

But yeah, I love how much content is ahead of me!

The early day issues aren't too bad to be honest. Aye, the sound could be better but it doesn't really impact the experience and once they get rid of "Tiberius" the group really seem to find their groove. As a character he isn't too bad but towards the end he does become frustrating and you can tell their is tension within the group.

It's an interesting difference the start of Vox Machina vs Mighty Nein. With Vox they've had countless sessions at home before they start streaming so you enter the story feet on the ground running.

Obviously with M9 it's a total new/fresh group so you're with them from the off watching them grow and establish a group dynamic.

I think you'll love it.

The Legend of Vox Machina ep 3.

Ouch.

The whole voice cast are excellent, but I really have to say Laura and Liam knocked it out of the park with this one.

I'll check it out! Only 4 eps seems doable to pause before going on with M9.

Gonna pause M9 and start EU: Calamity now first.

Good shout... it does make sense as it's very relevant to all the campaigns and you can get through it quite quickly.

I know you said you're listening to it but if you can watch the final episode then I would, that is a fun episode to watch, Brennan definitely brings his A game for it.

Haha, aye it's worked out well for you...

Sounds like M9 animated is only the beginning with plans to expand out the universe further. That could be Exandria Unlimited content with the rumour a EU:Calamity film... if that is the case FUCK YES!

Amazon striking whilst the iron is hot for sure!

We've got at least two more seasons left of VM animated, with the M9 announcement now you'd think that series would arrive sooner than the end of VM?! What would that be, another two years? If that is the case seems strange to announce M9 now unless it's just for hype!

I'm 2hours into it....Brennan is a solid GM...and while he's different from Matt, both are very good in different ways.

Really enjoyable thus far!

CR was my first foray into DnD so having a 1000+ hours with someone as awesome as Matt as the first DM I saw I think I was spoilt by that you could say ha but aye, Brennan nails it, some parts are totally epic due to his delivery.

I was unsure going into Calamity and another new DM after Aabria and Unlimited but the mini campaign really delivers.

Cunk On Earth has made it ‘across the pond’ and I am learning so much!

Started watching The Last of Us and been they've nailed the feel, atmosphere and tension of the game (not played the second one).

Seems like some big plot points are similar too but I imagine they'll divert a bit as it goes along. First two episodes down, will hopefully catch the third tomorrow.

Third one is both somewhat divergent and the best of the bunch so far. Real good stuff.

Very late on this but I finally watched Derry Girls recently. Really enjoyed the silliness interspersed with poignant serious moments concerning the Troubles in Northern Ireland. The final episode covering the Good Friday Agreement referendum is so brilliantly done. Another addition for the "Do you cry?" thread!

Agreed. Very funny and oddly moving. Which appears to be my jam at present. (Detectorists/Derry Girls/Ghosts)

Each character is just an absolute delight and Uncle Colm made me laugh just by being in screen!

His involvement in Liam Neeson's first cameo is one of my favourite moments of the entire thing!

Let's hope more LOTR trilogy or The Last of Us and less Legend of the Seeker or Rings of Power ... :hope:
