I wonder if Beanie Babies will actually make a comeback as collectors items or investments after all, despite the naysayers.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Finished Dark season 2 and started season 3.

Spoiler

Oh and I've been watching with subtitles instead of dubbing and it is a vastly superior watching experience.

Random TV observation.

As I've been travelling down the YouTube hole that is 8 out of 10 cats does Countdown, YouTube has begun just feeding me weird British programs that the players appear in.

I was watching some terrible cooking show with an appearance of Jimmy Carr and I realized I've mostly been seeing older clips of him when he looked like a porcelain doll. Old Jimmy Carr is beginning to look like Richard Nixon. When he looks at people you can almost hear him say "I'm not a crook!".

I binged Shadow & Bone over the past few days. Pretty good! I'm not sure how accurately it adapted the books, but it worked well onscreen.

The worldbuilding felt a little small and isolated, unfortunately.

On a scale of 1-10, 1 being not at all and 10 being Twilight, how teen/YA/angsty is it?

Surprisingly it's not as cringe as I was worried it was going to be. I genuinely enjoyed it and the girl playing the main character is very good.

There are definitely YA elements to it but it was written as a YA novel so that's too be expected a bit.

Agreed, I didn't cringe at all.

Ironically, his dodgy tax dealings may suggest he is a crook.

Man, what a loss. What an iconic character. The Wire was one of those shows that truly fit the bill for being a binge worthy show. I might have to get bitten by The Wire bug again and rewatch the series.

Oh my! What We Do In The Shadows s03 e02 - titled: "The Cloak of Duplication" - was magnificent! No spoilers, but lets just say that Cloak of Duplication features prominently. *chef's-kiss

Well, only first two episodes of season 3 so far have aired, so hold on they'll be coming soon enough.

Watched the NatGeo documentary 9/11 - One Day in America. Six parts. It was a lot to take in. Too much in fact.

Finished Dark. That was pretty satisfactory how they wrapped it up (always tricky with time travel). I too would like a bright yellow Jonas coat (I believe they're called Friesennerz or something?)

Mrs Tiste and I finished Snowpiercer which was honestly one of the best shows I've seen in a long while. Like, it's just excellent from start to finish. Daveed Diggs is utterly wonderful but just about every character really carries their own weight in this. I've never loved hating Sean Bean so much!

Heck yes. I've been on the fence about Snowpiercer, good to know.

I just started watching Bridgerton. I knew nothing of it other than it was a big thing a while back. I assumed it was a Netflix rip off of Downton Abbey but it's actually a sexy sweary Netflix rip off of Downton Abbey. Two episodes in and I like it. The Duke of Hastings is quite a fellow.

Honestly it was a lot more powerful than I thought it was going to be. They have a lot more space to explore the themes and allegories than the film did. I hope you like it!

We loved it. My only issue is that every season (like every book in the series) will focus on a different sibling's life/love life, so this is the last we see of Rége-Jean Page apparently for a while according to the actor.
