It also shows they are ignoring the 2000's reboot.

It’s also a sequel series not a direct reboot but still damn that makes me feel ancient as fuck.

Exec Produced by Kevin Smith, and his stipulation to do it was that it was not a reboot, and faithfully continued the story from the original 1980's show.

Yeah, I have to agree, with 40 just around the corner for me, I really don't need any more reminders!
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

A little while back Conover announced it is over, and that he has a new show with Netflix called The G Word (about the federal government) that is currently in production.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

That's a bummer, but not unexpected. When they did Adam ruins a plate of nachos, I figured they were running out of subject matter. Although the ruins nachos episode is one of the more fascinating episodes imo. The part about avocados and Mexican drug cartels was really interesting.

Not sure if a show that focuses on the inner workings of government is my thing. I'll look for how it is received.

I read the interview slightly different. There are new characters, characters are visually and racially different, some of the roles are different, but he's not going out of his way to contradict the original. The general story and rolls are faithful.
As a starting point he shifted the title to MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE and removed HE-MAN AND THE which has caused a number of neckbeardy types to roll around in ashes and don sackcloth as K Smith is obviously intending this to be the adventures of Teela And The Lesbians Of The Universe.

...also, it looks like they made Orko a badass and i am going to laugh myself silly every time he does something effective.

Got around to finishing Mare of Easttown.

Is "misery porn" a genre? If so, this series is a shining example.

The accent thing didn't really feature as prominently through the rest of the episodes as it did in the first one. I guess they were trying create the setting and location with the first episode and so sort of went overboard? The accent is more subtle in the episodes that follow, but sort of done lazily as it really only comes to the forefront with obvious words.

Also, I had to shake my head at the Rolling Rock beer showing up throughout the episodes. That's piss water that is available at any corner liquor store nationally. Any Pennsylvanian worth their credentials would be offended by that. Instead, missed opportunity, as they should have went with Yuengling. I did catch a few Yuengling bottles in one of the episodes, but you had to have a sharp eye.

I feel like Orko could be like a Flashman/Professor Lockhart....who falls ass backwards into saving people. Like even that shot of Orko being a badass could have a setup where he screws up and accidentally helps.

Clarksons Farm... a surprisingly very good series on Amazon Prime. I have a friend who hates Jeremy Clarkson but even they loved the series.

A recommend!

You got to feel for farmers though the shit they have to go through just to get by.

BTW, did any of you who watched this figure it out early on? The show was leaning hard into the Among Us sus vibes and there were a few candidates in the running.

Oh yeah baby To Hot To Handle is back!

If you like that show, you should check out THE CIRCLE (USA) on Netflix. It's got Chloe Veitch from Season 1 of TOO HOT TO HANDLE on it in S2.

Watched the first few episodes of show titled Cruel Summer.

eh, not all that great, but there's something cheesy and corny enough about it that I sorta want to continue on.

The setting is it takes place over the summers of 1993/1994/1995.

This is what I've been following so far.

1993 - Nerdy, socially awkward girl and her social outcast friends kick off the summer. Have fun list of things to do. Run into hot, popular girl at mall. Nerdy girl has that look like she wants her life.

1994 - By the next summer, hot, popular girl goes missing. Nerdy girl transforms herself into hot, popular girl and is now dating missing hot, girl's boyfriend. She also ditches her previous nerdy, outcast friends.

1995 - Missing hot, popular girl appears. Reveals she was kidnapped and held in an empty room in a house by the school's assistant principle. She says nerdy girl knew shew was locked in there the whole time. Reveals, without details, that unmentionable, terrible things were done to her. Assistant principle is shot and killed. Now nerdy (new hot) girl and original hot girl are all depressed and look goth and doing drugs, self cutting and are the poster child for troubled teenagers AND one is suing the other for libel/defamation of character.

It's really corny guys, but I want to see how it ends.

Finished watching this and it was bad, but bad in a way that hooked me and so I had to see it through. You know that whole- "can't look away from a car wreck" deal. So much schlock and corny goodness abounded. The surprise twist at the end of the finale was, eh, underwhelming (is a nice way to put it). "Season 2 Coming 2022" was run during the credit roll of the last episode.

Fun info nugget: I leaned that one of the actresses in this is Kevin Smith's daughter. Her name is Harley Quinn. Fucking DC nerd Silent Bob.

Anyone else watched/currently watching Firefly Lane? Because it is a stunning piece of TV making that packs a huge emotional punch, is phenomenally acted and really beautifully shot. Also my love for Sarah Chalke continues unabated. Great show.
