I started watching The Order on Netflix. The main character is a bit of a Gary Stu, but it's amusing.

Through Episodes 1-3 of GOOD OMENS so far and I think it's delightful! The core of what the book is is there, but the update to more modern times works too.
Tennant and Sheen are an utter delight to see together in these roles. The relationship between Crowley and Aziraphale is 100% what makes the book work, and that's exactly what works here so well. The chemistry is palpable. The side characters being played by Frances Mcdormand, John Hamm, and Jack Whitehall (amongst others) just hammers home how much work and care has gone into this show. Terry would be so proud of what Neil has achieved.

I was going to say the same thing, pretty much. Everything about this trailer looks fantastic though. I got rid of Netflix earlier this year, but this, ST3, and When They See Us are giving me good enough reasons to sign back up for at least a few months.
I will lobby again for the Netflix show from Germany: Dark. The 2nd season drops June 21st. Imo, anyone who likes/loves Stranger Things will feel similarly about Dark. I think its fair to call it a little more of a grown up ST in many ways. Its an absolute mind trip and I really hope the 2nd season can come close to living up to the 1st.

Haven't read the book (i know, i know....) - think that will negatively impact enjoyment of the show?

Oh I doubt it. There is enough explanatory stuff (voiced aloud by the aforementioned Frances McDormand as God) in the narration to keep you on tick.
And I'd love to see someone watch first and then read the book after.

I wasn't even aware it was based on a book until I saw the first episode. I binged the whole thing yesterday. As QT says, it is an utter delightful show well worth watching.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

The series reminded me I haven't read Good Omens, actually I've never read any Pratchett, so I ordered it from the library.

Watched all 6 episodes over the weekend. Absolutely loved it. Really captured the feel of the book, but with a bit of modern updates (book was written in 1990 I believe). The only thing I'd say is that the 'epilogue' bit is a bit longwinded, but I can live with that. I read a review somewhere that complained that some of the 'side' characters (like the kids) were a bit one-dimensional, but to be honest, they were in the books as well. As QT already said, the heart of the book for me too was the Crowley-Aziraphale interaction and that is handled gloriously in the series. Loved every minute of it, really. Well done all around. Terry would have been proud.

When They See Us on Netflix. Was gonna spread it out, but it was so riveting I watched all four parts yesterday. An absolute must-see.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Binged Good Omens on days 4 and 5 of a five-day fast.
There were a few moments where some of the actors spoke their lines as if they didn't know what they were saying, but overall it was very good.
When I went to quote some of my favorite bits of dialogue, I was pleasantly surprised to find they actually weren't in the book (which I haven't read (or listened to)---yet....).
Laughed so hard it scared my cat on several occasions, and cried several times too, which is rare for me. Granted, the fasting may have contributed. Or the odd coincidences in the timing---

Spoiler
happened (for the first time in recent memory) nearby (and other unusual places). But it really was brilliant. Great visual imagery too.

Chernobyl miniseries finished up tonight (5 episodes). Excellent throughout. Unsettling throughout also. The miners were bad-asses though. The Soviet communist apparatus though, that was some bonkers shizz.

Been on an Outlander S1 rewatch binge. Wish everyone here that had Netflix would que this up and give it a thumbs up even if they don’t watch it so they will put up S3&4 asap on list. It’s so good though y’all should try it out.
Weird, S1-3 are up on CDN Netflix. Hopefully you get them soon.

...This has made me stall on Westwing of which I have gotten to S1 Ep 19 of. Will get back to it soon. My gripes still continue with the on rails/x marks the spot shit. Hell I still haven't even bothered to learn the character names yet besides Bartlett. Seeing quite a few younger Mad Men actors show up which brings me to...
While S1 is pretty great, it really hits its stride in S2, including developing the rest of the cast further (and cutting a few less useful members). S2 ep 22 is a long way off i know, but it remains in my mind one of the single greatest episodes of TV ever.

Taking Marco Polo really slow(fuck them for ending this when they did) now that I'm on S2 Ep 2. God I loved this show. If you ain't watched it you should get to it.
Seconded. Surprisingly enjoyable.

The Dexter rewatch is going great with my son(haha) as we have made it to S3 Ep 1. He really likes it.

Hannah is such a boring Bachelorette.
It picks up around episode 3 when she starts taking out the CIA operatives that are hunting her.

I finished watching Season 1 of The Order. It was ok. Not sure if I will watch season 2.

This goofball was taken down.
And I'm glad for it. That weird thing he did with his tongue he would do every show. And he was rather cocky and disrespectful to the other contestants at times, low key, but still he would make gestures like clap towards them when they got the daily double instead of him and shit like that. Probably why his occupation is 'professional gambler'. Ken Jennings is exponentially more likable.

HAPPY and DEADLY CLASS both cancelled by SyFy.
https://deadline.com...yfy-1202627244/
I tried HAPPY but the concept didn't grab me.
Am still enjoying CLASS but i can see why it doesn't get a second season. Too expensive, too niche for SyFy.
I could see either scooped by a different channel/service, but i doubt either has the numbers to bring anyone running.

Finished up CHERNOBYL last night. EASILY one of the finest mini-series I've ever seen. Jared Harris deserves a goddamned Emmy for his performance as Legasov.
I would even go out on a limb and say it's the best thing that HBO has made in my lifetime. I've liked other HBO shows (ROME, GoT ect.) a lot...but nothing that has affected me like this, or been written and presented this well.
Now I'm off to listen to the accompanying podcast about the show.
If you've not seen it. Watch it.

I just found out that my Now TV subscription was paid up until June 10th so I'm going to watch Chernobyl too! Told my wife it's pretty intense and harrowing but she still sounded interesting so we're going to get through it before the above date.
Incidentally, here's a joke:
Why shouldn't you trust Ukrainian underwear?
Chernobyl Fallout.
