You just reminded me I never got around to watching The Pacific. I should rectify that.

Strangely I don't think I ever noticed The Pacific on HBO Nordic.

It's good but BoB is much better.

^^This. It's quite good, but it never reaches the highs of BoB.

That said, it's a VERY good look at the Pacific theatre of the war and especially the Japanese themselves when they were still in their conquering/expansionist phase.

Motherfucker! They never elaborated exactly what went down in great detail. I was hoping they would so I wouldn't have to look it up and I may not even bother sifting through everything. So Corrine and Demario had sex after a few drinks but what specifically caused the producer to be so shocked? Did she look like she was passed out? Did she freak out thinking her family would freak out seeing her hook up with a black guy so act like she was a victim of rape? How is Demario doing after this incident? I don't look at him very favorably after what they showed on Rachel's season but his rep shouldn't be tarnished further if she did freak out period. Much was said without much being said imo. Is either of them banned from ever coming back on the franchise?

Very anticlimactic after this long a wait.

Do you understand the concept of legal liability and how this could affect a TV show in this exact situation? The fact that this made it to air is a bad thing and the show should have been junked immediately. Eating the costs is better than doing what they did. But you tuned in anyways.

I can't tell if this is some kind of misspelling or an amazing burn.

I typically just watch the monologues of Colbert and Meyers on youtube. I did see Selma Hayek on another show recently though. She's ageing like a fine wine. She's just about the most charming woman alive I figure.

Yep going to have to re-watch Band of Brothers for the 20+ time.

In my opinion, there has been no finer television ever made, than the amazing story of Easy company.

Finished The Defenders and strongly disliked it.

So to get that out of my head I decided to watch the first Episode of Ray Donovan. Down South Wasn't kidding. This show is good. Completely fucked up but very entertaining. If this is what they open with for the season I can't wait to see what they close with.

I fall asleep any time someone mentions Ray Donovan. It's Pavlovian.

I just realized Donovan's wife in Ray Donovan is Trixie the Whore from HBO's Deadwood. Made me happy. I'd never seen the actress before Deadwood and I thought she was phenomenal. Surprised I'd never seen her anywhere else.

The show has a bunch of stars that I haven't seen in a while. Eddie Marsan, Jon Voigt, Elliot Gould, Peter Jacobsen, etc.

Watching Iron Fist. Maybe it's because I had very low expectations but it's not *that* terrible! Will be finished soon & then I'll go on to watch Defenders.

In the meantime, keeping up with Rick and Morty & GoT. Which are very similar shows.

You're getting soft Tiste, don't let those evil Netflix people cheat you into think Iron Fist is good.

Got completely hooked on Ray Donovan. Watched a few episodes last night and watched the rest of the season today. Started right up on Season 2 afterwards. Great show to watch on a rainy day.

I've got to say that I'd prefer if the show was more about Donovan fixing shit for crazy Hollywood types and less about the family's personal drama. I love the way they show the team just moving in and doing a part shake down, part con every time there's problems.

I mean it's not *good* but it isn't quite as bad as I'd feared. Terrible choice of actor to play Danny, really whiny and emotional. But Claire, as always, is a great character. There are some pretty good fights and the sensei guy who trained Connie is pretty cool.

Definitely the worst of DD, JJ & LC (dunno about Defenders) but not as gut wrenchingly awful as I was expecting.

Maybe its because i never got into comics, but i've tried watching all of the preceding Defender shows on Netflix and found all of them pretty damn dull.

I read up on the actor for Iron Fist yesterday because I was so annoyed by him. Turns out that (according to him) the production crew only gave him a few weeks to prepare for the role and every day he usually just had an hour or so to prepare for the days fight footage.

It explains why he looks nothing like a fighter and has none of the aura or motion of one.

Still, that doesn't account for him being a piss poor actor. I wonder if he even read the Iron Fist comic or even just the concept of kung fu or martial arts.

I just finished Iron Fist last night. Pretty bad finale, but I agree with Tiste for the most part on the series being not that bad as a whole.

The Meachums -- especially Ward -- are genuinely great. The dude playing Ward has a great understanding of his character, reminds me a bit of Lindsey from Angel. Colleen Wing is a solid character too. The problem with the show -- aside from meta stuff like writing/pacing/etc. -- is Danny Rand, period. And I don't even blame Finn Jones. It's clear that the character was written and directed to be a naive bratty doofus, and it was such a bad decision that messes with everyone's story lines when Danny intersects them. It doesn't even make sense most of the time, even once you have all the dots to connect that the whole season gives you.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

The fourth and final season of Halt and Catch Fire kicked off on Saturday. If you haven't watched this series you've really missed out on a hidden gem. I guess the best way to describe it is Mad Men but with tech (the rise of personal computers in the late 70s / early 80s through the explosion of the internet and WWW at the beginning of the 90s).

If you can spare some viewing space, I recommend you binge through the first three seasons and then join me for season 4. Come on in, the water is fine.Posted Image

I kind of like the Defenders so far, but now and then and especially whenever Danny Rand turns up on screen, the whole thing makes me wish they'd just make a season 2 of Jessica Jones instead.
