Rented disc 1 of some Britalian detective show called Zen starring Rufus Sewell. One of the most boring things I've seen in a long while, so I skipped episode 2 and am sending it back posthaste. Would have hardly been tolerable at an hour, but episodes were 90 entirely unjustified minutes.

I quite liked Zen. It's formulaic, yet done with a style that's very nice.

The books are sort of trash, so the show is a big improvement upon them.

If you've mentioned it here before that might be how it ended up in my queue, cuz otherwise I have no idea why it was there. It was not on my radar at all so it must have just slowly floated up.

I can't really argue with you on formula or style. I can't even say I disliked it (except, distinctly, aforementioned episode length); for some reason or another I just felt zero engagement. Oh well.

I'm with Amphib on this too. It is pretty formulaic, but has a nice languid style to it which I appreciate having grown up watching pretty sedate british murder mysteries. But maybe I enjoyed it because the lead actress (Caterina Murino) is one of the sexiest actresses out there.

Caterina Murino is scorching. The biggest problem I had with Casino Royale was lack of stuff for her on screen.

So a large portion of family watching over the past few months has been Paul Soares Jr's Minecraft videos on YouTube. The fam is hooked on Pocket Edition, but recently we got 1.8 for the PC.

12 MONKEYS continues to be really excellent for a premise I thought had a short shelf life, they've found really solid ways to open up the world to allow for a more complex and longer story. Now that characters like Katerina and Ramsey are getting deeper character arcs, I can see that the show runners are doing their best to not only tell and interesting story, but invest us in characters. Good stuff. Hope it keeps on this way.

Three episodes into Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Charming, funny, and very odd (the massive cheeryness combined with the darkness of the actual premise is a good, occasionally unsettling, combo). Also Ellie Kemper is just great.
