Man. I know Fox has been killing it the past few years with their sitcoms (and Last Man on Earth is another one to be proud of), but even though it's still relatively early in its run I'm going to call Fresh Off the Boat the best (live action) sitcom on TV right now. At least it's my favorite. Laughs-per-episode beat even B99 (the only thing more consistently hilarious is Bob's Burgers). It's very much in the mold of the late great Everybody Hates Chris, but with 90s signifiers instead of 80s. Also it has the best soundtrack on TV. I'm in love with this show.

Surviving Jack was a similarly promising show - and it didn't live up to internal expectations.

That had a phenomenal soundtrack and great writing too. Damnit. I'm still sad about its demise.

Hopefully, the Fresh Off The Boat show gets past its necessary benchmarks at Fox.

I'm currently watching Sons of Anarchy as my serious watch.

Just finished the League though as my humour watch. What shows can replace this or live up to its adult humour.

Fresh Off the Boat is at ABC, I was just mentioning Fox because it has been dominating on the sitcom front recently (even canceled shows like Surviving Jack, Enlisted, and Ben and Kate were all quite good). ABC has its share of terrible shows, but Fresh Off The Boat and Black-ish are both fantastic, and to a lesser degree Cristela is actually pretty good (though suffers from sticking to 3-cam sitcom formula).
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Wife and I just started Parks and Rec. this is some seriously good comedy.

The main cast is awesome, but Paul Rudd as Bobby Newport was fanfuckingtastic.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

I saw the pilots of two new shows today, One Big Happy and iZombie.

One big happy was funny enough, I suppose, but also not very well thought out. They have Kelly Brook wandering around naked, twice, and they censor her nudeness. Now, I understand that they may not want to show a naked woman on a show meant for the family, but it really kills an already pretty generic joke.

iZombie, however, was surprisingly entertaining. It's about a doctor who goes to a party, because what's the worst that can happen? A freak zombie breakout apparently. She then goes on to work at the morque, eat brains and solve crimes. It doesn't exactly measure up to shows like Vikings, The Flash, POI or Blacklist, but I thought it was really entertaining and fun, in quirky-no-so-serious kinda way. I'll definitely check out the next couple of episodes.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

I haven't gotten a chance to see the pilot yet, but it's from Rob Thomas the creator of VERONICA MARS...so I know at least the pedigree behind it is solid. Good to know it's entertaining!

Oh yeah, and it has little bits of comic book strips in there aswell, a really nice touch that adds an appropriate amount of character to the show.

The SO and I ran through Broadchurch last weekend.

Fairly good, although several components of it didn't quite work as smoothly as the hype made the show out to be. I'm interested in seeing Season 2 and the Gracepoint remake of it. I've seen the first episode of Gracepoint, which was actually better than the corresponding Broadchurch one (although it had less heavy lifting to do).

Stop. Finish Broadchurch season 2 before watching Gracepoint.

Gracepoint is quite good imo.

OK so Community was hilarious from start to finish more or less. So much to say about it, looking forward to getting season 6! Currently watching Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt 1) Ellie Kemper is amazing. I love her! 2) This show is flipping funny/well written/suitably bizarre. 3) Netflix are clearly much better at original shows than revamping old ones (I try not to think about Arrested Development S4...)

I haven't watched it yet but I think it's a great sign that networks are actually getting into the short-season serial storytelling game in response to cable. It can only help cut out the padding of a 22+ ep season.

Been binge-watching THE UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT on Netflix. Goddamn it's funny! Tina Fey makes such amazing shows. This is literally for fans of 30 ROCK (the music is very similar) who love their comedy peppered with 90's references and clever charming storytelling. And the theme is addictive as hell.

Dear THE FOLLOWING,

I appreciate the strong start to season 3, but those last two episodes were so stupid that I almost went serial killer just to make it stop.

Please do not repeat this crap.

Stabbily yours,

Does anyone else feel that Forte's character in Last Man has become too unlikeable?
