Speaking of can anyone suggest a new comedy to fill the void?

There aren't very many good sitcoms made these days. I don't think I can stomach any of them to be honest. But one show that has laughing my ass off is Drunk History on Comedy Central.

There is also an exclusive show on Hulu called Quick Draw that is also hilarious. Its about a Harvard graduate sheriff in an American Old West pioneer town that is introducing forensics to his crime solving. Believe me. It works.

http://mashable.com/...original-watch/
Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.

You can try out New Girl, Parks and Recreation, Louie, Veep and a few others, if you're looking for comedy/fun.

I like BBT for utterly selfish reasons. It makes me laugh, even though it takes pot-shots at nerd with outdated stereotypes. I have no reason WHY it makes me laugh, but I think most of it has to do with Sheldon's delivery of his lines most of the time. But yeah, I like it in spite of all that.

Yeh ive seen bits with that Jim Parsons guy and he on occasion can be very good when given decent lines. But he cant carry a show and neither can Kaley Cuoco epicness.

I still find MODERN FAMILY to be uproariously funny.

This

Im always a bit hesitant about family comedies but the gf got me into this and it is brilliant with all the grown up characters being fantastic aswell as some excellent cameos. I cant recommend it enough.

For example my gf doesnt know Chazz Palminteri from anything other than this so doesnt understand when I laugh so much at him in this show when your used to see him as a hardened mobster.

Oh man, seconded. Have been weak with laughter in the past over that one!

Agree with amph's choices, though I haven't watched Veep yet. My rec: It only got a half season order this year so it's not on till January and it's probably gonna get canceled after that (so basically a truncated season 3 perhaps), but I still ride hard for Suburgatory. It's funny, it's sharp, it's satirical and whimsical and sweet, and it has one of the best casts in comedy (Alan Tudyk is a regular cast member for goodness sake).
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Eastbound & Down on HBO (s4 has been going for a few episodes now). If you don't laugh, you are dead inside and it sucks to be you.

Also, a surprise find, The Goldbergs on ABC. I found it because it airs after Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It's actually pretty funny.

Eastbound & Down is hilarious. It can be abrasive at times. Always hilarious though.

If you don't have an irrational objection to animation Archer is probably my favorite show on tv right now. So funny.

^^This.

ARCHER is flat out brilliant. I laugh my ass off at it, and there are four seasons to chomp through. Gooooood stuff!

I am so looking forward to the finale of HIMYM, just so I can finally be put out of my misery.

Yep. Me too.

This cannot get here soon enough.

And I'm loving Brooklyn Nine Nine. Show cracks me up every week. The complete opposites of Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher is perfect.

And Archer is awesome. "You seriously have to get out of here before the cops come... Or wait, what do you have in Switzerland? Some kind of pikemen?"
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

NBC's DRACULA starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers...(and MERLIN alum Katie McGrath as Lucy Westenra)...

Entertaining. Not mind-blowing, but entertaining.

The production values are AMAZING for a network show actually. One thing I dislike, making Meyer's Dracula fake an American accent (handled in the first ep as part of his disguise)....his natural Irish lilt is just better IMHO.

Second, the twist in the mythos...

Spoiler

Huh, I guess I had more trouble with the pilot than I let on. LOL

I enjoyed it. I like the new twist. I'm onboard for a few more ep. Nice to see Katy and Meyers onscreen together again. They had a scene in Tudors together lol.

Yeah, will defo be watching as for the most part I dug it...just those niggling things bugged me.

You folks on other shores may have already seen this, but here in the US, The Returned (or "Les Revenants") started airing two weeks ago on the Sundance Channel. New episodes are airing every Thursday night. It is worth checking out. It is sooooooo good, imo.

I'm with you on that. I think I got as far as season 4. Basically any action or thriller series with one main character is pointless beyond one or two seasons, as the suspense quickly evaporates when you know - whatever the outcome may be - the main dood will always pull through.

I've rewatched Community season 1-4 again. That humour there tickles me to the core.

PERSONS OF INTEREST... this season... holy fucking fucksteaks with baked potato double stuffed with fuck... the last four eps have been awesome, AND funny, AND AWESOME.

Seriously, the show didn't need Amy Acker and Sarah Shahi, but with them plus the existing cast.... i'm so impressed. FFS even the dog is fun to watch.

I've been watching Alpha House lately, seeing as how it got picked up for a season, and it's simply friggin' hilarious, especially if you follow american politcs (which I do because it's always good for a laugh)
If you're afraid that it's a comedy version of House of Cards, an excellent show, then rest assured. It's not. This show is about four republican senators living together when in Washington and their political troubles with getting reelected and maintaining a "proper" republican facade.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Forgot to mention PoI in stuff I watched earlier. I'd watch anything with the guy who played the Count of Monte Cristo in it. But I like that Asian guy they've had recur in a few eps now.

Plus Finch is the man. I think they brought the girls in to appeal to more women. My wife alrdy watched this one with me too, but she liked it noticeably more with addition of new badass women. Although I have to admit I don't care much for the black cop chick. I can't unsee her as her role as crackhead hooker in Hustle and Flow
