Portlandia killed it tonight. Those BSG segments were hilarious.

And I am definitely excited to see Paradise Lost 3. If you liked those movies and haven't seen Brother's Keeper (same film-making team), you should check it out ASAP. Totally different case, but just as sympathetic and riveting IMO. It's just a little bit overlong for some people, but I loved every minute of it.

Saw the two first episodes of Sherlock season 2. The first episode was stunningly brilliant, while the second was merely good in my opinion.

Just watched the second series of SHERLOCK on BBC. As people above have said, the first episode was excellent, the second was good, and the finale was pretty damn good as well. Quality television. (as an aside, as someone looking to learn a bit about film-making, the cinematography was very impressive throughout the show, really high production values).

Between SHERLOCK and LUTHER, that's a couple of really solid franchises that the BBC have going for them now ( i really enjoyed their adaptation of WALLANDER too). Pity there are so few episodes of each, but i suppose quality is better than quantity.

Now i'm struggling to think what shows i'd want to watch. I'm pretty ambivalent towards most of the U.S. television series on at the moment, now that HOMELAND is over for a season. Anything new and/or exciting coming in the next few weeks????

Seems like the best US tv is on pay channels. Weeds is excellent, Dexter is also great. Walking Dead is very good, and is on free tv, but has a few issues. Well worth watching though. Most of the basic network stuff looks like shit.

Alcatraz started tonight. I didn't watch it yet, but its pedigree is strong (JJ Abrams, Liz Sarnoff).
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I've got it PVR'ed as well and haven't watched, but WW is right the pedigree is strong.

Saw the latest of GRIMM. While I don't hate the show - its has that little-show-that-could vibe that kept me tuning into The 4400 - it is all around just very weak. There's only one interesting character (Monroe), and he's just a sidekick. Again, the writers really need to step it up.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

BEING HUMAN US Season 2 opener: REALLY fucking good.

I love that this show is just as relevant and thought-provoking as the UK one is, but DECIDEDLY less bleak overall. The UK one was good but every time an episode ended I always wanted to go wash the bleakness off my skin. The US one doesn't do that, and has already diverged HUGELY from the UK plotlines.

You should be watching. SyFy, Mondays.

PERSON OF INTEREST is back. Last week's ep wasn't terribly clever, but at least Carter is finally getting drawn into the Gun Jesus Crusade. And we get more of the Finch backstory too.

Finch displaying his lone martial arts skill was enjoyable.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

CBS are apparently making a show called Elementary in which a certain Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson solve crimes in modern day New York.

:) Are they taking the piss? The answer by the way is yes because the BBC are reportedly raging.

Sweet! An Idiot Abroad 2: The Bucket List airs tonight on the Science channel tonight (1/21). Watching Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant torture Karl Pilkington is great fun!

The 3rd season of Archer is fucking hilarious.

IMO, this is the best season of The Big Bang Theory to date. Every episode is awesome.

I am enjoying this season of 30 Rock, and I may watch Downton Abbey because it gets talked about a lot.

Sherlock is even better if you pretend he's the Doctor.
