Finished Expats. Could tell from the opening segment that it was probably going to be a depressing prestige slog, but slogldiered on anyway. Mostly a succession of depressing and/or awkward situations, with a bit of romantic playfulness and eroticism sprinkled in. Some quasi-anthropological exploration which was a little interesting... but eventually got a bit boring.

Bit of mild experimentalism. Was one such scene in episode 2 I did like.

Final episode had some nice lines that were delivered well:

Finished live action Avatar.

It's fine, with some really good moments. A few changes I like, a few I don't. They have no flipping idea what they're doing with Katara as a character and it shows.

Overall though I'm largely positive and will watch more when its released. Most of the casting is good to great, and I enjoyed most of it.

I thought Shogun was a full series on Disney and binged up to ep6.

It's good. Mr PigDog was being an ass and not listening when I told him it was good. Then he had to be away. So I treated myself. Now I've peaked too soon.

I'm so old that I can't watch anything with subtitles without first having to go and hunt for my reading glasses.

I have to use them because I don’t hear well anymore. Too much loud music back in the day!

I don't think reading glasses read the captions aloud for you.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

You're probably kidding, but:

Are there glasses that can read out loud to you? Yes, and they're called OrCam MyEye. Here's what you need to know.

Oh wait here we go:

If they were really the ultimate they'd let you generate personalized ideal reading voices for each text... including your choice of celebrity voices. But the "rights" for that would get very expensive....

Has anyone managed to get into ST Discovery? I’ll admit I got disillusioned by the second season because of IMO Dune level hokeyness and stopped watching, but with the final season I’ve been wondering if I should give it another go.

Tried, but bailed halfway through season 2.
Wasn't for me for many reasons, but Jason Isaacs and Michelle Yeoh were not 2 of them.

I forced myself to the end of series 3 and couldn't stomach further.

However, it did birth Strange New Worlds which is probably my favourite of the new Trek iterations.

So what to do when you don’t feel well on a Saturday? You binge TNG of course!

Does anyone else get sick of Geordi? I feel like he’s the Velma of ST always losing his visor and going on about how he can’t see. Plus all of the whimpering about his problems with women…. UGH! The character was thankfully redeemed in Picard! I guess every show needs a Neelix.

Still enjoying the hell out of this but always wanted to have this rant.

Star trek discovery somehow manages to be so incredibly unlikable in every way for a tv show that should have had a built in audience, nostalgia and an impressive fx budget.

Strange new worlds is awesome though!

The nelix of voyager and I approve of the term is somehow Tuvok. Even as Nelix nelixes it up.

I enjoyed 95% of One Day (Netflix).

The mains do a very good job of staying compelling and making the most of these many slices of life. The down beat's really only the last episode that gets too many flashbacks that grind the story to a halt.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Have you guys watched Mr Inbetween?

It's an Aussie show about a criminal who does dark violent shit for a living but also just wants to live a nice normal family life.

It's sort of like Barry. Only good, and funny.

I like how low key and sorta realistic the depiction of violence is. Just a guy doing his job very efficiently.

Currently on season 2 of this show. It was a recommendation from a mate and it's actually very good, I was surprised by it.

Really well crafted and the character shenanigans are just amusing.

We're watching The Bear. Anyone else? Series 1 was very good. Series 2 is a bit up itself, however I defy anyone with a genuinely dysfunctional family to get through the Christmas dinner episode without starting to feel intensely anxious. I believe the younglings nowadays call it "triggered".

The Bear is really friggin good.

You're right though, Season 2 starts slowish, but the last 4 are awesome.

"I wear suits now."

I LOVED The Bear season one and two. That line is great but his journey to get to that line was great too.

The trip abroad, the Christmas episode and the fridge incident all make for great TV in season two.

I absolutely loved when you realise who Will Poulters character was talking about too with his story about his training/rival.

Aye, pretty much the same response and thoughts. Some great and some not-so-great changes. I'm still totally in for the ride though...

I really wasn't sure about making Ozai more sympathetic and so far Azula's casting is a bad choice, too much teenage angst and not enough psycho!

I can't wait to see Toph in action next season.

Zuko is great, Iroh needs work. They were my favourite characters in the cartoon. I liked what they did with the 41st too and that back story.

Some other shows... Half way through season 4 of True Detective, finding it pretty average so far.

The Gentlemen was really good. Going to binge Shogun and Masters of the Air soon.

Just started Sand Land.

X-Men 97 is damn good! As soon as the theme music kicks in it's a case of helll yeaaahh here we go!!

The contrast between how good episode 5 was and how awful the motendo episode was is unreal. I nearly bailed after that episode, glad I didn't!

The Fallout TV show is good.

I should play one of the games. Looks like Fallout 4 is my best option (I have a PS4 for gaming and don't play online/multiplayer).

All i can really say about ep 4 was that it wasn't as bad as it could have been, and was still better than the XMAS and WatXM Mojo episodes. 'Worse' ep of the five so far but 1-3 and 5 were so steadily strong i can't fault them for going easy on 4.

The audience needed a breather ahead of what was coming,
