It seems that Betty White has died at age 99, just a few weeks before her 100th birthday.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Lost a legend!
Betty White was the best.
Betty White was the best.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Anyone watching 1883? I've never seen the show Yellowstone; it's supposed to be the prequel to that. Based on what I've read, it sounds sorta like a show that brings the Oregon Trail thing/deal to the tv screen. It has Sam Elliot. I think I'm going to check it out.
Don't have Paramount or I would be watching it, I have seen the first 3 seasons of Yellowstone and really like it for the most part. Some of the plot is unrealistic, of course and the violence is rather over the top. But the scenery and just about everything else about it is stellar, if you want modern western,
1883 is a Yellowstone prequel and not only does it have Sam Elliot, but also Tim McGraw and Faith Hill.

Two episodes in and it comes out of the gate strong. Sam Elliot is in peak Sam Elliot form. And we have a Tom Hanks cameo in episode 2! woot-woot!
Watching is giving me a hankerin' to start up Red Dead Redemption again. The Tim McGraw character hews very similar to John Marston.

I was expecting it to be violent, because an American frontier 1883 story can't be told without an element of violence, but damn, so far in two episodes they don't pull any punches. It's also quite dark in tone in certain parts.

I binged s04 of Yellowstone yesterday, love this show. Beth is a legend, everytime she is on screen you have zero idea which way she is going to take it, top script/acting.
Not sure whether this or Succession is my favourite currently running show.

There's been a lot of advertisement for the latest season of the Grand Tour (Top Gear Deluxe) on Amazon, so I decided to check it out.
Those guys got old! They're like a bunch senior alcoholics in a reality TV- show for car porn enthusiasts. The chemistry is still there but they almost seem like a parody of themselves by now. Clarkson got old and fat. Hammond grew an evil doppelganger beard. And May seems like he's just in his own TV-show doing what ever not really competing in their overly scripted competitions.
Stil it's incredible to watch what the show was like around 1990-2000s and what it's like now. They used to be struggling journalists looking for a hit and now they're multimillionaires going on adventures around the world.

Clarkson has a show about running a farm now. I think it's on Amazon. I hear good things and farmers say it is doing wonders to highlight their plight caused by low cost food. Which is bonkers.
We're watching The Tourist. It's on BBC but I think it's Australian. 3 eps in. It's good. Kinda slow, lots to try and work out.

I still love that show but thought S3 slightly weaker than the first 2...

I stalled out on Wheel of Time. When Nynaeve shows up outside the walls of Shadar Logoth to threaten Moiraine and Lan, I was like - "oh boy." Very different from EoTW version and completely improbable. I'll probably pick Wot up again some time later.
So I switched to The White Lotus and glad for it. Shorter @ 6 episodes (~ hour long each). What a twisted ending, and what an excellent series.
From the show (for you book worms) - Every book featured in HBO's hit satire The White Lotus. Recommend watching the show first before clicking that link, because spoilers.

Finished watching Superstore now they've put the last season up on Netflix. Honestly one of the best comedies I've seen in a long time, and they kept the energy and laughs right to the end.
After Life season 3 has now arrived as well so we're watching that. Man some of those scenes are awkward and dark!

Finished After Life and once again it was a very funny, sad, thought provoking show.
Also watched the second series of something called Back to Life, about a girl returning to her small home town after spending 18 years in prison for murder. Sounds quite heavy but it's also really funny despite the subject matter (in a similar vein to After Life really.)
Both highly enjoyable.

Almost done with the last season and I agree...but I will say that it seems like they might be lining Jonah back up to end up with Amy and that will bother me. Also, nowhere near enough Bo in the last season, otherwise super solid.
