Watched more Dark. I think I'm around episode 6 or 7. I'm getting a real Lost kind of enjoyment trying to keep track of past and present and who's who. The show even has it's own hatch/basement mystery.

One thing I'm really curious about:

Spoiler

Ah, you have so much yet to experience! Can't answer any of your questions because I wouldn't want to lessen any of it for you. Its not too late to start taking notes to keep track of who is related to whom and what happens when, etc. I was glad we did!

Just my opinion but Dark blows Lost out of the water. And I liked Lost for the majority of its run.

Well seen as Disney+ only has 2 episodes of The Mandalorian on at present I've started watching the Simpsons from the beginning. Will see how far I make it before I give up!

I finished season 1 of Dark yesterday. Not quite the revelation or changes I was looking for but pretty exciting none the less.

That Hannah woman who Ulrich was cheating with. Forget about Noah. Hannah, that psychopath, is the one that should go in the chair. She's like a villain out of a Stephen King Novel.

To bad there ain't any excitement over the fact Netflix released Ozark S3 today.

I'm setting in for a nice binge watch.

We're ready for it. I imagine we'll be into it by the end of the weekend.

I just read that the earlier seasons of The Simpsons are incompatible with the 16:9 format Disney+ uses, and as a result, the videos will be cropped at certain areas, causing you to lose some visual jokes.
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

Gonna rewatch seasons 1-2 then finally get to 3.

Netflix A LETTER FOR THE KING is...fine? Like it's fine. It's apparently a dutch 1962 fantasy novel, and you can kind of tell? It's GENERIC. It could easily be called GENERIC FANTASY SHOW.

Not even the presence of David "Faramir" Wenham (who I might add is inexplicably doing his level best David Thewlis impression on this show?) elevates this much. The young lead has JUST enough charm as an actor to sell it episode to episode...but this is really nothing special and I wonder how it ever got greenlit when there are much better fantasy stories to adapt out there. I also hear they added magic in where no magic existed in the book?

I'm just not impressed. BBC's MERLIN was better than this by long strides while being 100% hoky-er.

Enjoying Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet.

Up to ep 5 of a 9 ep first season and it has that double-edged humour that is funnier because it's true.
I've read about it being compared with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The (US) Office - neither of which I ever watched - so I guess that's your benchmark.
Apparently it has some of the same people involved who did IASIP.

Only complaint - it can come across a bit tryhard woke-y, but it at least takes the piss out of that. And the other side of that argument too.

So far I give it seven decent MMORPG expansions out of ten.

Finally getting to Good Omens. Pretty solid. First two episodes were good. First half of episode 3 (flashbacks to Crowley and Aziriphale’s past) is really good.

I guess I’m taking the plunge on Tiger King next.

Finished watching The New Pope. Everyone one should give it a try, just because there is nothing like it. It has some of the best dialog I think I've ever seen a series. So much gristle, rife with politicking and back stabbing intrigue. And Malkovich as the emo Pope requires that you at least try the show. His homily to the masses about being the outcasts and the bullied will have you running to the bathroom and finding that jet black eyeliner, dusting off those old My Chemical Romance cds and going to the specialty shop that sells those clove cigarettes you used to pull a drag off while hanging under the bleachers at the Friday night football game.

TIGER KING

Episode 1: Huh, I mean this is odd but it's not exceptionally great.
Episode 2: Okay, some polygamy and death rivalries going on....end of episode: Wait what?
Episode 3: WAIT WHAT?

Episode 4: What in the ever-loving....

Okay, I get the hype now....this story is twelve kinds of fucked up and I'm not even done yet.

Okay, don't hate me, but I had to watch the episode of The Walking Dead that saw actress Danai Gurira (AKA Michonne) exit the show. Full disclosure: I dropped watching the show somewhere right around where they introduced the the Whisperers. I just couldn't anymore with the inane crap the show was giving us every week. But with these social isolating times we are living and having a curiosity, I had to watch the episode. I really enjoyed the Michonne character during the halcyon days of TWD and thought Gurira was a main reason for the show's success. Prior to watching the episode, I read a summary of the the episodes (and narrative) that lead to Michonne's exit. Anyway, yeesh! it was awful, like, complete crap. What a shitty way to exit a character that at one time had every one jizzing all over themselves when she made her appearance with her chained walker companions and her katana at the end of (was it season 3?). What a shame.

Finished TIGER KING.

Look, everyone in this is insane and a criminal. Everyone, barring probably the dude with no legs, the dude with no arm, and the zoo keeper with he long hair. Everyone else in this thing is some form of shady or criminal.

Did Baskin kill her former husband? Who knows, but but changing the Will to read with the word "disappearance" tells me she abslutley did SOMETHING. She also seems to be under the impression that she's fighting for these big cats...she's not. She's just keeping them in a different manner than Joe (and all the other zoo purveyors) are....nevermind that she literally doesn't pay employees...while being rich. Also, anyone who thinks that the ONLY reason that the later husband is/feels safe....is because he has no money, otherwise Carol might want him gone too.

Joe is a complete and total train wreck start to finish. So are Doc and the rest of them. Just utter narcissist's with cult personality complexes. There's not much difference between Joe or Doc and someone like Jim Jones. It's all about power, control, and sex.

So is it a good documentary? Maybe. I kept watching, but at around episode 6 I felt tired of it. And episode 7 feels tacked on. They lean hard early on into Carol's possible crimes, but later when Joe is proven to have done a bunch of shady shit, he's treated better as the doc focuses instead on Jeff Lowe and the other shadowy people who came in at the end and it ALMOST treats Joe like a victim...I don't believe that he is for one second. And I 100% believe he burned his own studio/alligator paddock to prevent bad footage of him getting out.

I guess that it was just "too" trashy for me in the end. Like I just felt gross after finishing it.

EDIT: Also we don't even need to show that Carol killed or had Don killed...he very easily sounds like he was running drugs to and from Costa Rica and could easily have run afoul of someone there (the bit where the person said the last thing Don said was "If I pull this off, it will be the slickest thing...."....the only thing that messes with that is Carol changing the will....but I could be very easily convinced that Don was doing shady shit with criminals in CR and got himself offed as a result.

Finished Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet. Season 1 is only 9 eps afaik each about 25 min so easily digestible.

Good fun with a couple of things I didn't see coming among some I did and a few familiar beats.
I do wonder how they can go to a season 2 though - they could quite easily end it here satisfactorily if it doesn't get renewed. Which is probably what they intended.

Definitely a good COVID-19 binge. I stay with my previous mark of seven ummm ... highly specialised community subgroup game servers (don't ask ...) out of ten.
