I'll probably watch it eventually.

The Cosby Show is still going in rerun perpetuity, so I don't see all that much impact to MJs legacy as a musician/performer. Not sure if there is much revelatory about it myself. It's been well known for quite some time now that Michael Jackson diddled little boys. I mean a man in his 30s and 40s sleeping in bed with boys had to be a red flag for someone, right? But, you know, blinded by celebrity, almost deity like adulation and so forth and I guess it can happen. Google his trial of mid 2000s and see the fan support clamoring for his innocence (doves being released for each 'not guilty' announced for charges, and all the other hullabaloo).

I have a friend who is an enormous Michael Jackson fan. The type of fan I don't understand. Collected the sign posters, flies to the UK to see his concerts. That kind of thing. I remember the big trial from what maybe twenty years ago? He watched it religiously and I would hear about if from him. I have to say the narrative he told me seemed to make MJ sound innocent. How MJ had been accused once and settled and now every parent smelt a pay day. I think the family in this trial also had a few skeletons in their closet.

Anyway my takeaway is that when you have a pre conceived bias its actually easy to see the answer you want to see regardless of whats going on and they don't necessarily have to be whackadoodles ignoring the obvious or coming up with insane theories. Everything my friend said to me at the time seemed plausible to explain away MJ as a peadophile but the information was seen through the lens of only his most ardent supporters.

Its scary stuff though. Had a kid at my school who was very close to MJ. MJ flew to South Africa for his barmittzvah. Don't know the particulars I just hope they were not that close.

Questlove the drummer for the Roots would go online for years and put step by step narratives of how Jackson was manipulated into these situations. At the time I read those, I figured he was probably not right on everything, but he cared about this much much more than I did, so he probably had the facts generally down.

I am glad this documentary came out and blew that to smithereens. Wanting a hero to not be an abuser shouldn't mean that you automatically diminish the stories of people claiming abuse - especially when very very few people falsely claim those stories.

Seriously? You guys didn't think Umbrella Academy was sort of disappointing? From the intro I expected X-Men, instead we got a bunch of weak misfits. Only teleporting kid was really impressive.

We already have x-men, don’t need a clone. Also, x-men tends to be pretty disappointing a lot of the time so I didn’t mind a fresh take on the idea of a superhero school.

First of all. How dare you. The X-Men are awesome

Second of all churning out a bunch of weak failures doesn't feel very fresh.

I thought it was bizarrely charming. I do think they were a little too sparing with some of the backstories, but it was neat not being able to predict where the story was going.

The Passage season 1 is over. Wow... the last 10 minutes brought a lot of changes to the show.

Watched all three seasons of Jack Whitehall's BAD EDUCATION, and really enjoyed it. I've got the movie queued up next.

Been slowly working my way through the latest season of Crashing. It's ok, I think it has sort of explored all the scenarios of a struggling comic who deals with how the stand up scene conflicts with his christian up bringing. Sometimes the show tries too hard to be topical and it sort of falls short - ex. older comic dealing with changing times and how his set is no longer ok and now has been viewed as racist and misogynistic (a la #MeToo). I guess the show has been cancelled. I like Pete Holmes though.

Have watched Whiskey Cavalier Ep 1. Better then I thought it would be.

I really liked episode 1. Episode 2 wasn't as good.

The first season is rewarding if you make it to the end, but if you are struggling after a few eps, I understand that and it may not be your jam.

I watched Turn Up Charlie, Idris Elba's Netflix sorta-comedy thing. It isn't really very good but it is absurdly likeable and I watched it all in one go.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

I just signed up for Hulu (ditching cable) and discovered that they have Highlander: The Series in VOD. Man, the first season is rough...
