I disliked starting this game on Thursday, since as I'm sure many noticed I was incredibly inactive during the weekend. That's just not fair to anyone.

Though I have finals next week, maybe I won't play.

I am about as active as you are during the weekends. I also have midterms next week starting on monday. Yet I will still play....Cause I have a problem...

I'll start sign-ups and let it run for a while...you can all decide on whether or not to start tomorrow...hell could probably start in 7 hours if need be.

Can lend Bent a hand modding, although truth be told, I'd much rather play, having been dead early for several games now :D

I'd like to play in the next Mini - it'll definitely be my last game for some time - but whoever's running it (alt126?), if you don't already have an idea for a theme, would you PM me? I'd like to play that Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan idea I had a few months back. But I'd like to actually play in the game.

Anyways, I've got the setup if you - whoever that is - cares for it - it took me about a minute to write, it's so meat-and-potatoes, and so obvious in its Roles. If I had the pw for the Game Development thread, I'd just post the text file there.
I finally have an avatar ... and it's better than yours.

Do you really think it's a good idea to play in the game you wrote? Even if the roles are 'obvious' part of the fun is figuring that stuff out, so either you'd need to moderate it or you'd need to announce every role and special rule at the start.

Anyway, if Lisheo isn't going to mod the one he wasn't able to (43.5), alt146 is the next person scheduled. If he doesn't want to or can't, I'll offer to moderate and could device a theme. I'm a Californian though so update help from the other side of the world would be helpful when I'm asleep.

Just throwing it out there.

Rumors of a Dresden game abound, right? I'd be down for that... if someone would let me know when it happens I'd appreciate it.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Actually, it would work just fine - the Roles are obvious, but the mechanics could be tweaked slightly while retaining the core of what I have in mind. Roles could be de-Paired, or made into Pairs, Symps could be added, subtracted, made into inheriting-Killer types (or unmade), etc.

My write-up has that flexibility, and would take about thirty seconds for the mods to tweak so that I, as a player, would have no advantage over other players.

But that's up to alt146, if he still plans on running a Mini next.

I would like to point out that it's a bank holiday weekend in the UK and I am going away Friday pm to Monday pm. I could live with missing a mini as I guess they are over quite quickly, but if anybody starts a game that is likely to last a while and doesn't include me then they are a scoundrel and cad and should be roundly abused...in a not nice way. :) :( :( :)
'Tell me, Tool, what dominates your thoughts?'
The Imass shrugged before replying. 'I think of Mafia, Adjunct.'
'Do all Imass think about Mafia?'
'No. Few think at all.'
'Why is that?'
The Imass leaned his head to one side and regarded her. 'Because, Adjunct, they are sheeple.'

Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that frisbee getting bigger?" ... and then it hits me.

Well, if we go by the list of mini's, they are in order:
Lisheo's codex mini
Alt's mini
JA's benses mini
My Lies of Locke Lamora mini

So it mostly depends on if Lisheo's available.

Since I don't see a lot in the way of Meat and Potatoes games on the horizon I'll add one in.

Will be standard game TMDI of 2. Theme wise, I'm thinking I'll go for loosely based on The Princess Bride. The roles really write themselves more or less :(

Happy to run it whenever, not sure if we are sticking to the low TMDI followed by a high TMDI format or not. However I will need a co-mod, one who enjoys scene writing. Preferably having seen or read The Princess Bride as well. I'm happy to do all the other stuff but scene writing isn't my thing :(

I'm not an addict to TPB (as in knowing the dialogues by heart) but could co-mod - though it would depend on when it is run. I'm on holiday during the last ten days of may and don't want to spend all that time on Mafia, and early or late june will see me 46 hours a week at work for 2-3 weeks.

I do have an idea for a mini - thanks for the offer yellow, but I'm kinda keen on running my cult mini. Although I dont really know when I will be able to run it. Like I said in the poll, the next couple of weeks are a bit of an unknown, I dont want to open signups and suddenly find myself horribly busy.

Ment, would you mind putting me down on the priority list for now? I should be able to mod sometime soon, latest two months from now.

OK, quick question - is anything actually happening in the "Game Development" forum?

I was hoping to drop some ideas in there ...

Hey, just popped in to see what's been happening... Think I said it elsewhere, but If you all don't mind, I'd like to postpone my mini, until Grief is done with his exams. Cheers. :)
