About 45% through. The classic medieval back biting stuff doesn't feel uniquely new, all the Azanthani stuff is far more intriguing. The squabbling, especially from the Legion is just fairly petty - which is realistic I suppose.
What was the forum speculation on Arthan's name making Olar laugh. Is it an Arthan/azanthani riff?
Olar consuming Raskan is pretty terrifying. Read it just before bed, which with all of the dreams about babies being sliced off was probably not the best idea. -

That's a big statement Whisp. Not sure where people rank the big urban fantasy series these days. -

Let's see what the case rates are in two or three weeks time. I'm not fussed about queuing outside so much as the infection risk outside is microscopic.
Once the schools opemkng was done with not a massive spike the big one for me is the May date when people can go indoors again. Those are the big two I think where we'll know whether this works or not. -

So onto Chapter 8 and things starting to hot up and move beyond standard fantasy set up.
The shedding of Feren sets up some proper tension.
Grizzin Farl and Caladan Brood booze up was almost kruppe like in its word play and sets up Errastas and Lechul Sath... who appear from nowhere to kill a Jaghut on a jealous desire for power that just feels like an echo of the main series...
Let's get cracking! -

Chapter 5 is very satisfying classic travelogue fantasy fiction with the young hero coming of age and maturing.
Grizzin Farl's appearance is good if nothing more for the speculation on who Arthan's living mother is.
