Yes, we all love you. Of course.
Now just put on this jacket.
Yes, the arms are a littel odd. Don't worry, you'll get used to them.

But... what if I don't want to? ;)
I still heart Goodkind.

Then go to the padded room.
Yes, that one on the left.
Doesn't it look comfy?

In all seriousness, I reckon that'd be a fun room for a while. I mean, I'd go jump around and mess about. After about 10 minutes it would get gay lol.

As for controversial opinions... I like The Redemption of Althalus.... there, I said it. So let the flaming begin ;)

Don't worry mate, I like The Redemption of Althalus as well. Found it quite an entertaining book. I was afraid to say it before, but they hate me for liking Goodkind, so my hole could not be dug any deeper I figure lol.

Oh Eddings does deserve credit. Not for the Elder God's though. No way in hell.

It's okay. No one is held responsible for the things they liked when they were eleven years old.
(I'm giving you both an out here, just take it and walk away. seriously now, don't tell us how old you were, just nod and smile, thereyougo...)

Lol I know that is a lie. You guys are brimming with love for me.

You're like our token semi-sane Goodkind fan. Every fantasy lit forum needs one and they are VERY hard to find.

Back to Eddings, i find it funny that no one has jumped fwd to say they liked ELDER GODS. Bellgariad/Mallorean and even Tamuli/Elenium have their defenders based usually on a YA reading, but i have yet to see praise to TEG.

And if Belgarath had kicked, Silk totally would have been running the show...

"Okay, Garion, i want you to gather up all the other magicians on our side and start nuking Torak's forces with your brains. Oh, but 'port all their gold and jewels to my storeroom first. Barak, Mandolinoleum and you other immensely talented warrior types, you get out there stand around looking intimidating. Polgara, Ce'Nedra, that purple-eyed chick and oh whatthehell, my hawt spy cousin too, grab some wine and some graoes and close the door so we can 'strategize' in private. Naked."

- Abyss, would have forgiven DE for writing that twice...

A fan of Goodkind and the "Althalus" books? Great googa wooga.

If you're a NY Yankees fan or a Dallas Cowboys fan, I'm just going to have to ban you on pure principle. ;)

It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Second fantasy I ever read was Pawn. Must have been 9 or 10 or 11. This was after Wizard's First Rule.

All in all, I'd go with the Belgariad and Mallorean as a whole over the SoT as a whole.

Silk is still one of my all time favorite characters. Him and Belgarath.

But, alas, that was a decade ago. My re-read a few months ago was maddeningly disappointing. Oh well.
Redemption of Athalus was fun, minus the fact that it was basically his other books condensed. Too bad.

That's coz anyone who's read the whole series is almost certainly in a vegetative state now.

I think I read one of Edding's books when I was 14-15. My mom loved it. I hated it. I was reading Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser and The Guardian of the Flame series back then. As well as the annual jaunt to Middle Earth and the necessary Conan saga. Glen Cook was a couple years away yet.

Edited for accuracy. :D

You were a very precocious youth though! No wonder you're so Jumpy.

You read a Goodkind book at the age of 9 or 10? And your parents let you? I'd read some dodgy shit by that age, but bloody hell! I'm really not any kind of prude but, love him or hate him (and I hate him btw), there's no way a 10 year old should be anywhere near one of those books!

I'd imagine that Eddings would have made a bit of a change from that...
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Bertrand Russell

I'd agree. The Mord-Sith stuff in WFR was too much for me, and I read it when I was (um) 19.

Mind you, I did read Clive Barker's _Imajica_ at 13. Which was also too early.
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.
