I reckon the person on the front cover with shackles around his wrists may have escaped from the sword, in which case how many got out? Just him?

I predict lots of plot twists, surprising events, and little but great bits of humour. And a convergence near the end of the book.

More seriously, I think we'll see Mappo's little band come along and a reuniting of Envy, Spite and Draconus...with hilarious/disastrous consequences.

I think Dragnipur will be broken, but not in a way nor with the consequences that anyone will accurately predict.

Both K'rul and Kruppe will survive, as I reckon the last scene of the prologue takes place after the events of Toll the Hounds.

Karsa will die, probably in a heroic but horrible way.

Clip will kill Rake in a treacherous, backstabbing sort of way, but will in turn be killed by Nimander.

We'll find out something surprising about the Seguleh First, like that he's actually a really rubbish fighter.

Darujhistan will be destroyed in a battle to defeat the Tyrant - who/whatever that is.

There'll be new, dramatic revelations about the Hounds of Shadow.

  • We will get at least one major death.
  • A figure long haunted will either ascend or be launched into his personal oblivion.
  • We will have at least two scenes when the weather is rainy.
  • The CG will show us his true cunning/helplessness
  • Edgewalker will be freed
  • Icarium will make an appearance
  • Many, many more.

The latter is not an option...at least not yet in TtH I hope.

The Crippled God will kill some ravens and cook up some roasted bird. Some very special roasted bird :(
The leader, his audience still,
considered their scholarly will.
He lowered his head
and with anguish he said,
"But how will we teach them to kill?"

Hopefully Envy will be back and we will get some further explanation about Garath, and why his name is eerily similar to one of the 7 holies. (well we know a bit already, all that business about "could have been ahound).

*slobbers*

Man I'd love to see a rematch, or maybe a resurfacing of a few of the Forkrul Assail, ala the Jaghut.

He's going to make a choice that will affect the world when next they meet, right? Anybody got the direct quote?

Calm is talking to Bairoth (HoC MMP pg97)

In a huge massive twist, the ST&Cot/Hood/QoD alliance sends their collection of assassins (Vorcan, Nom, Dunsparrow, Leoman, Topper, Apsalar, Kalam, and hey, Dassem's daughter just for good measure) to take out Brood and bring back his hammer.

Crokus’s crew meet Gruntle on the way to Darijwowzers. Treach claims Mappo and Chaur/Hebroic as his Destriant and SA.

The possie who were in the boat when the jademonkey came down will have special powers. They will rock up to Dari just as some major shit starts going down and kick some serious arse.

Crokus drops that other silly name, (shags that noble chick he robbed in the first book and Sprite and Envy for kicks) turns out to be descendant of the Tyrants and realizes just how far he has grown on his travels as he bashes various minions of evil.

Selugh are reclaimed by the Tyrant and cause a civil disturbance. Envy and Mok come home. Mok bashes the First good.

Surviving BB come out of retirement and kick some serious arse. Antsy gets antsy.

Nom and Vorcan wake up and have a few coffees.

Disfigured Teblor under control of CG are causing a ruckus.

Icariums machine “mysteriously” starts doing strange things.

Kchain wowzers pay a surprise visit to Genabakis.

Rake dies. Sword broken. Much woe and gnashing of teeth.

Draconius family reunion that seems like a Jerry Springer episode with scales.

Kruppe eats too much and gets a tummy ache.

in the BH Bottle has a few thoughts about how continents always seem to have one city where big things go down, y'ghatan for seven cities, malaz for quon tali and pale for genabackis.

so im putting it out there that pale is the main setting for TtH, with darujhistan factoring in a minor role.
There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.
