Hey so I've been thinking about the Empress, and how she is going to factor into ICE's books.

And we pretty much know she isn't going to make it through this conflict, at least still in power right? One of those little snippets at the beginning of a chapter is dated...after all

Spoiler

I think we may see her go down in this book...your thoughts?

And what do you think her final fate will be?

Trying to get some RotCG threads going! :D

Always good to see new threads!
Especially considering this is one of the forums that I have neglected, even with RotCG so close....

Well, she may not go down in this book, but when she does it will be her last act to take out Mallick Rel/Korbolo Dom. I think. She might also get assassinated. That would be ironic. She might also apologise to Tavore.

I'm is too tired to post more, sorry.

I've just always found it interesting how we know so little about "the most powerful woman" in the world.

I think she is destined to go out badly....taken down by maybe the one person she trusts..

Perhaps Surly tries to stop the Return of the Crimson Guard herself by trying to assassinate Prince K'azz/Skinner, would add a totally new twist. I think she will go down in this book and a new government/leader will be installed. The Old Guard will be around there somewhere, poking their drowning noses about!

I still think that she's acting as a tool/stand-in for Kellanved and Dancer is going to knock both of them off.
Shaken, not stirred.

I haven't heard anything about this :folken:

I think that would be an awesome set of events, if the old Guard were to get back together. It would still stick to the Malaz way I feel too. Surly, where is your power?

Does anyone think Topper might have some involvement in this convergence.

So why did Surly take power?

Pure ambition? Did she really think she could do a better job than Kel and Dancer?

Or does she know something we don't?

Kel and Dancer were off learnign god-powers
Someone had to run the earthly matters... so Surly took over

@ Dancer: yes, im sure Topper will make another appearance.. after his "dissapearance" I'm really looking forward to seeing him again.

Although, now we have seen the aftermath of what happened in NoK, so I'm not entirely convinced it wasn't a real takeover (although, one would think that Dancer would've shadowdanced and killed everyone, but heh, maybe the otataral stopped him?).

I'm wondering if Surly knows something about the upcoming danger...like some have speculated Dancer and Kel did.

I bet she will get her comeuppance, but not die.

Another good thing, in HoC it says Grub will become First Sword of the Empire. That means that retard Korbolo Dom is going down... :D

yes, but Grub probably won't be first sword in the span of MBotF, seeing as he's just a kid right now...

As for Korbolo--that was pretty obvious from the start. I'm much more interested in the fate of Mallick Rel...

Some seem to think she may be a lesbian...I don't know.

She is definitely described as tomboy'ish.

I'm starting to wonder about SE. He seems to love the lesbianism but shy away from man on man love...kinda wierd.

What warren does the Empress use?
