Are those Hamilton books good? Neverheard of him before today, but i was at the bookstore browsing, and the back of the book summary (think it was Reality Dysfunction or something along those lines) made it really sound like a very intriguing read. Still have to finish my Malazan re-read, but looking for a new series to get into when i finish
If i were to start a new series along the lines of Hamilton or Asher, I would probably go for Asher at this point. While Hamilton has some great ideas, I've found on more than one occasion, that the ending is something of a letdown.
I don't remember having the same feeling with Asher's work, and I really loved the Agent Cormac novels.
My difficulty with Hamilton's writing was possibly most evident with the Reality Dysfunction series, which started well, built up a great premise, and then i could see that he would run into problems wrapping things up in a satisfying manner. And so it proved. Pity, since it started SO well. His novels are impressive in scope though.
