I was going to buy Peter F. Hamilton's The Evolutionary Void but had forgotten it wasn't out til the 3rd of September, but I saw Neal Asher's The Technician on a shelf instead. I didn't even have the slightest idea it existed, so that was a nice surprise.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Just finished "Shamanslayer" by Nathan Long, a Felix & Gotrek novel which I must recommend if anyone hasn't read this series.
IMO the best of Warhammer books

HiddenOne. You son of a bitch. You slimy, skulking, low-posting scumbag. You knew it would come to this. Roundabout, maybe. Tortuous, certainly. But here we are, you and me again. I started the train on you so many many hours ago, and now I'm going to finish it. Die HO. Die. This is for last time, and this is for this game too. This is for all the people who died to your backstabbing, treacherous, "I sure don't know what's going on around here" filthy lying, deceitful ways. You son of a bitch. Whatever happens, this is justice. For me, this is justice. Vote HiddenOne Finally, I am at peace.

Black Lung Captain is a great read. Predictable as crazy, but that takes surprisingly little away from the enjoyment of it.

Picked up C. J. Cherryh's Morgaine Saga omnibus, as well as Robin Hobb's Shaman's Crossing on clearance at Half Price Books today. I also saw Gene Wolfe's The Devil in a Forest there, but it was so beat up that I couldn't even justify spending the $1 on it.

I Shall Wear Midnight, Terry Pratchett's latest. It's a good one but not one of the stellar entries, imo.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

I also got I Shall Wear Midnight, Pratchett's latest. This one showed its YA nature much more clearly than the previous entries in the Tiffany Aching series, I thought. Some great cameos though (and the return of my favourite character from early Discworld). But the language is still fantastic, the humour clearly serving the story, and the development of Tiffany and the Chalk shows PTerry hasn't lost much, if any, of his power to charm and make readers think.
Also picked up Kearney's Hawkwood and the Kings based on the review here.

Are those Hamilton books good? Neverheard of him before today, but i was at the bookstore browsing, and the back of the book summary (think it was Reality Dysfunction or something along those lines) made it really sound like a very intriguing read. Still have to finish my Malazan re-read, but looking for a new series to get into when i finish
