LOL. That will be SE's gift to Abyss. A scene in his house....with cats everywhere.

Zanth you are so close to 100 rep...i've been repping you like crazy!

I'm hoping for a lot of answers with Traveler/Daseem....and to of course see him kick more ass.

That would be awesome. Traveler turns out to be some random jackhole and Daseem is retired, chilling in his own warren of tears.

**EDIT--I'm trying Zanth...I'm trying!

Redmast is still sailing the seas as Captain of his ship, he's not dead. My apparent secret lover Apt, believe me. I know it as fact.

Redmast is the name of my... #####

On topic:
- Traveller and Dassem are both formidable swordfighters
- Traveller and Dassem are both Dal Honese
- Traveller's new sword has the names vengeance and grief, while Dassem is the good of grief, and seeks vengeance against Hood.
- Icarium said Traveller might have been good enough to destroy him. Dassem is a god, and could probably slap Iccy around.
- Traveller said he was serving the Malazan Empire 'more than you know', while Dassem was the malazan commander before his 'drowning'.
- Traveller was travelling with one of the members of the 'old family' (Nok's wife, the talon), and Dassem was one of the 'old family'.
- ... and so on and so on.

EDIT: We need some Traveller/Dassem fighting Seguleh action. Now that would be awesome :p

only one minor nitpick:
Dassem didn't "drown". he was "killed" at Y'ghatan

Look, how many times do we have to remind you?! Dassem can't be Traveller, it's impossible. They have different eye colours.

Typical...:p

I thought they all 'drowned'.
Wasn't that the big joke?
You can be 'killed' and 'drown' at the same time by the way.

So Traveller must be Dassem's lost twin brother...

To be honest I don't understand Kud's point. It has no logical place in context of your comments except the 'Old Guard' part, but even then it doesn't matter what happened before. What matters is he found them eventually. EDIT: I understand now after reading.

The drowned thing was a group joke at large, basically.

Somebody made a thread where Redmasks name was misspelled in the title. That lead to countless jokes and will probably go down in forum infamy.

It's true, I think I was the first to adapt the interpretation of Redmast being a famous Letherii sailor who was a cousin to Redmask. If you think about it how could we know at the moment? We only learn Redmask is Letherii at his death and then his storyline is left at that, in addition there are no mentions by anyone to enlighten us of Redmask's descent.

We can't really know anything about Redmask and it seems pretty unlikely imo that storyline will be picked up again in TtH as well. Think we might be waiting a while to see what it clues us in to (if anything)

Hopefully TtH will clue us in a bit on Redmusk though, the notorious Daru dandy, second cousin to Redmask and inspiration for the cologne of the same name.

Good stuff!

I doubt we'll ever learn more about Redmask, but who knows. I think a lot of people will just condemn the plot even more if we never learn anything else about the guy.
