For the life of me, I cannot find a video of the Rollins-Koppenhaver fight. Didn't catch it live either. So I can't compare.

There's pictures going around of BJ, locked into a rear naked choke, while blood squirts two vertical inches above Stevenson's forehead.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I watched the whole thing on UK Sky TV live and Penn absolutely ate him, the commentators are always too quick to try and make out someone was unlucky but Penn was in a different class. Looked leaner and fitter than I've seen him in a while, if ever.

The blood was incidental, if dramatic, it didn't hamper the vision, if anything it might have made it slightly easier for Penn to lock in the submission but only in a minor way.

Go to mmaweekly to see this photo. Brutal. Regarding the fights last night: Cote, cote cote cote.......THis guy is shaping up to be what he was promised to be a long time ago. Heavy handed canuck.

Speaking of canuks, who would like to see St. Pierre fight Anderson Silva? It might get the point of they have to because there's no one left to whip in their weightclasses.

Well, lets see how Silva deals with Henderson first.

Good point. If he walks through Henderson though(which doesn't sound easy), I think the toughest fight out there for him would be St Pierre.

Absolutely. Silva is my favorite fighter, almost purely for the Fryklund and Okami knockouts, but GSP is a close second. Both give me a good idea of what the sport will look like in ten years (at the top levels) in most, if not all, weight classes. Of course, I'm assuming the wages keep rising, the audience keeps building and that minor tweaks get made here and there (scoring, legality of certain blows).

Jeez. The future looks a lot like rollerball.

I'm just watching back UFC 61 on my Sky plus (like Tivo) which was on a couple of days ago, I'd forgotten what a total bloodbath the Stephenson v Edwards fight was, finished as a TKO on the blood which was a shame.

But now I've got on Frank Mir, what an utter waste of space that guy is, never the same after that accident.

Yeah, you can hardly blame him for losing his edge in a wreck. And he always will have a special place in heart for breaking Tim Sylvia's arm.

I loved it when he broke Silvia's arm, in fact I like it whenever Silvia loses, I can't stand the guy. As far as I am concerned he represnts old school MMA/UFC where people could just get away with being heavy hitters. Look how Coture owned him,the fat get, and how many time Arlovski put him on his arse (even though Arlovski is not an intelligent fighter)

He isn't even that hard of a hitter, for his size. Ha just has such a crazy reach advantage he pick pick people apart from the outside. Boring. I question his heart as well. He was also busted for steroids, which lowers him even more. Then, he explained said roid use by saying he had self-esteem issues because of his body not looking as good as other fighters. Come on Tim, you're just as pretty as the other girls.

Two days until UFC! I for one am excited to see both of the heavyweight matches. Should be worth the cost of me watching it. Although, since all I have to pay for is gas, corndogs, and drinks and slots for the wife, it wouldn't take much to make it worth it to me.

Ah, great fights. I am pleased with the outcome of both main events. Man, give Lesner a year or so to train and he's going to kill someone in the octagon.

I'm hoping Lesnar gets submitted in the first round, not beause of his WWE background but that gay tattoo on his chest :D And give Mir a break, he looks good these days and I hope he regains his best form and breaks Sylvia's arm again :D

Great quote from Sylvia:

Quote

Every fight [Big Nog’s] in, he gets his ass kicked for the first 10 minutes. You start getting comfortable fighting him, and next thing you know, he catches you. The guy’s a legend in this sport.

To lose like that really sucks.

Sylvia has to finish, he knows that. You don't go the distance with a submission artist because they jump on the one mistake you make. Lesnar learned that too
