I strongly suspect HRG was the one who shot Nathan.

Do you think there's any relationship between the kris that Saint Joan was carrying on the cover of 9th Wonders and that kris in the display case in the Odessa vault?

Me too, the set up was perfect.

So now the question becomes, does the healing power overcome lack of air, food and water?

All Peter has to do is cut his arm or something to save Nathan yes?
I'm disappointed that Nikki seems to die. It seems such a waste to die to save the girl with the lamest power.

Do you think next Volume, Sylar will come into his own as a true supervillian? or more of the same from Volume one?

Well. Lets just hope the next volume will be better. I liked the Peter - Nathan storyline. I wish peter will save him, but I'm guessing the producers are too stupid to let that happen.

You are probably right Rodeo...

I feel that it was a really stupid move for the producers to kill off decent actors only to have them replaced with really crappy over acters. I can only hope that next season is better. If not then it will probably be the last season that I watch.

I don't really think that Hiro cares if Adam sufocates. I liked how after all that happened he went back to being a worker drone. I would have thought that with his sister in charge that he would at least have his own office. However that probably wouldn't free him up to be able to do what he needs to do.

Will sylar have the powers of people that he killed when he didn't have any powers? I hope not. It would really suck if he could change his shape.

Matt trying to get into Peters mind was funny. Yeah Matt is kind of a badass, but Peter is still the one who can kick ass.

I loved how Peter was kicking ass with his power. I still don't know why he didn't just read Adams mind.

I forget, has Peter demonstrated that power again since his reincarnation?

@Rodeoranch - maybe, and i absolutely love that idea. It will be interesting to see how far back down Bennet is prepared to go.

@thesalus - nice catch. Totally possible.

I liked the finale. While the whole 'why didn't Peter read Adam's mind' thing was odd, Adam did spend a while with Parkman's dad, so he may have been able to protect his thoughts like Mama Petrelli did from Parkman a few eps ago. Also, ummm, how does changing the future Irish chick is trapped in save her exactly...?

I'm not actually convinced Nathan is dead until we see the funeral, but i'm comfortable with it if he is - his storyline was done, he did the conflicted leader thing in the first season and the search for redemption/whining a lot this season. It's enough. That said, Parkman took like five in the chest and lived last season. Nate took what, two?

The Hiro/Peter/Matt confrontation was great. Hiro v Adam was actually the first time i have truly enjoyed Hiro in ages and the resolution was perfect. Peter's multiple powers... every time Peter does stuff like this, i picture the writing team sitting in the brainstorming room geeking out with stacks of X-men comics and and old SCANNERS movies. In a good way.

Anyone else suspect the Pandor's Box Mama Petrelli ref'd was an utterly pissed off angry Peter full on hunting the Company?

Nikki... the multiple personality thing was the most interesting part about Nikki, and then mostly because Jessica was the more interesting of the two. She spent most of this season either looking distressed, or being a victim. Totally disposable and the whole 'rushing in with no powers' thing was relatively well done and heavy-handed ironic on what DL was doing before her one ep gangsta boy-toy plugged him. Thank you for playing, Ms Larter, see you in the next Resident Evil movie.

More important is the effect her death will have on Mika... the cel phone thing (He tells cell phones what to do! - think about that for a minute) and the traffic light thing were just hints of how much control he's getting... throw in some serious dead parents issues and next season could be VILLAINS indeed.

His cousin, well, i still hold out hope for her to be more interesting. Her turn from 'i am going to be a hero!' to 'please don't kill me mister gang banger sir', while logical, was still lame.

Also lame were Elle's daddy issues. The plotline made sense, but was just too trite. And how the hell did she get from Odessa Texas to Manhattan in 15 minutes... wow, that Company has some serious jets. Cut to my suspension of disbelief dribbling onto the floor... but it was good fun to see her fry Sylar.

I'm totally dissappointed that we're not going to have a Sylar/Maya as Spike/Drusilla thing next season, but Zack Quinto is great fun to watch and i look fwd to more brainz eating evilness (when the writers strike eventually ends in like 2012).

So going into next volume, we have Sylar back, and potentially Parkman, Peter, Mika, Hiro and Bennet all going to the dark side. I'm still in.

- Abyss, lost you all with the Scanners comment, right?

Yeah he did when he and Adam confronted the scientist chick an episode back. He read her mind to find out were the virus was being kept. He kept asking Adam if he could trust him. Best way to find out, READ his frigging mind. We don't know if Adam could protect himself like Mama Petrelli, because Peter didn't even try.
I was kind of curious about whose Brain the Company was keeping on Ice.

I am SO PISSED. I mean, HE KILLED HER. HE SHOT HER. Our suffering was OVER dammit!! :p what retard decided to keep her--and Monica--and take away both Nathan and Nikki?! :p man I hope they come back though.

God, please let the writers be a little smarter for the next volume. They've wasted much of this one. Peter vs. Hiro coulda been cool. Hiro coulda been smart enough to teleport into the vault. Peter coulda done the same, or phased through the door (thank god he didn't though).

Damn you Peter, you were so cool and now you're just a dumb**** ;) how the hell did he get good enough to beat Nathan??!?!

BAH.

Still, not all bad. I like having Sylar back. I hope he becomes badass again.

I enjoyed the finale.

I'm betting with Rodeo on HRG as Nathan's killer. You can see a brown-haired guy walking away in the back of the crowd after Nathan is shot, presumably the killer. Can't tell if it was definitely HRG tho.

You gotta wonder about the paradox of Adam being buried alive. That's kinda like the irresistible force (suffocation, starvation, and thirst) meeting the immovable object (immortal guy). How does that work?

Overall, enjoyed the season. It had its glitches, but Kring & Co pulled it out at the end. Like Abyss, I'm in for Volume 3....
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

LOL re your Maya comment, but i didn't actually find her that bad. Not sorry Sylar kebab'd her rbother tho'. I think the writers were actually afraid of taking the Paulo/Nikki from LOST analogy too far (intro two hispanic characters, do little of interest with them, fans whine, kill them off).

It was easily left open to bring back Nate and Nikki (he survives! she escapes the burning building!!!), but i'm not going to weep if they stay dead.

- Abyss, still dead.

Me too, plus the squiggly dagger. It's the same dagger that appears on the cover of 9th Wonders that was in Micah's backpack.

Would Peter's blood now express the same miracle-healing properties of Adam/Claire?

I like the idea of Nikki's death resulting in Mica's start down the "dark side" it seems plausible, the kid is too idealistic for this not to have a harmful effect.

So because I'm bored and still a major fan of the show, here's my breakdown of the characters going into Season 3.

Dead/Not Likely to Return
  • D.L. Hawkins - Took a bullet or two defending his psycho wife. Unlikely to get better.
  • Isaac Mendez - Sylar ate his brain or whatever he does.
  • Alejandro Herrera - Sylar knifed him.
  • Adam Monroe/Takezo Kensei - Buried alive for eternity by a vengeful Hiro. Could possibly return at a later but it seems unlikely for the time being.
  • The Company Founders: Suzanne Ammaw
    Charles Deveaux
    Harry Fletcher
    Paula Gramble
    Daniel Linderman
    Carlos Mendez
    Kaito Nakamura
    Arthur Petrelli
    Victoria Pratt
    - Most killed by Adam Monroe

Status Unknown

  • Nathan Petrelli - Last seen riddled with bullets just prior to revealing the mutants to the public. Could possibly return via regenerative blood from Adam Monroe, Claire Bennett or Peter Petrelli.
  • Niki Sanders - Last seen trapped in a burning building that then exploded. Unconfirmed death. Also suffering for the Shanti Virus and stripped of her power.

Good Guys
  • Hiro Nakamura - Last seen back in Japan. In full control of his powers and wiser for his adventures. Likely to continue "saving the world"
  • Ando Masahashi - Hiro's friend, last seen in Japan. Criminally underused in Season 2. Likely to continue adventuring with his friend.
  • Mohinder Suresh - Last seen in New York. Incredibly stupid at times but I think he's still trying to help people.
  • Molly Walker - Last seen in New York. Still in Mohinder's care.
  • Claire Bennet - Last seen in California. Wants to go public with mutant info. May not as part of Noah Bennet's deal with company.

  • Monica Dawson - Last seen New Orleans. Wants to use her powers to be a hero.
  • Micah Sanders - Also last see in N.O. Also wants to be a "Hero." Potential issues with loss of both mother and father.

The Grey Zone - Could go Good or Bad
  • Peter Petrelli - The most powerful of all the mutants. Last seen holding his dying brother. Could go Dark Side in the name of vengeance. Extremely erratic.
  • Matt Parkman - Growing in telepathic power, now able to coerce people. Could follow in his father's footsteps.
  • Maya Herrera - Last seen in New York. Has virulent power capable of mass lethality. Loss of brother and betrayal by Sylar could lead her to a dark path.
  • Elle Bishop - Last seen in New York, chasing Sylar. Serious Daddy-issues led to cruel personality. Possibility she may continue her career as Company agent or turn to the "Heroes" path.
  • Noah Bennet - Last seen making a deal for his family's safety with the Company. An extremely dangerous man. Strong contender for the shooter of Nathan Petrelli.
  • The Haitian - Location unknown. Loyalties unknown. Has worked with Noah Bennett, the Company, and Angela Petrelli and his own agenda.
The Bad Guys
  • Sylar - Last seen regaining powers. He's back, baby and there's gonna be hell to pay.
  • Maury Parkman - Last seen as a captive of the Company, trapped in his own mind by his son, Matt. Extremely strong telepath. Bagman for Adam Monroe. Could escape mental and physical prison and become a serious villain again.
  • Angela Petrelli - One the last Company Founders. Stone cold bitch. Possibly ordered/aware of Nathan's execution.
  • Bob Bishop - Company Founder and current leader. Unpleasant fellow.

I dont think so. His original ability was to see what was "wrong" with things, and that seemed to be how he knew where to cut people open to take there powers (usually in the brainz)

Technically speaking, if 'cellular regeneration' is an accurate name then he cant survive. Once he runs out of nutrients and oxygen, it doesnt matter how fast his cells can regenerate, there would be anything for them to use. Of course, the true mechanics of powers havent really been explored so its quite possible he will survive on.

Yeah, I guess he would essentially shrivel up and die. But then, able to be brought back like Claire was in Season 1?

He'd be like their version of Raest! *envisions a reanimated Sark tearing his way across Tokyo to get to Hiro*

Stop applying your silly logic and science and puny facts. The reality will be whatever the writers want it to be.

Unconfirmed rumour is Adam's back next season. Also unconfirmed is whether they're keeping Kristin Elle. If Nikki stays dead there's a slot for blond psychologically unstable loose cannon available.

At the end, Sylar had the telekinesis which he got from his first victim, so presumably he has all the powers he did before the Company neutered him. Open guess whether he has Michelle's, since he was neutered when he ate her.

@Rodeo: great list. Missing missed flyboy West, Michelle (worked for the company, eaten by Sylar) and whatsername modem girl who we saw in like two eps in season one. Anyone else wonder what happened to the freaky Indian kid hanging out in Mo's dreams last season?

- Abyss, still still a fan.
