I'm almost completly certain that Sylar did not get Eden's powers. He was ready to, but then she pulled the gun out and he mistakenly though she was going to shoot him, but she blew her brains out instead.

Why would a bullet in the brain stop him - he always kills his victims anyway. I thought she killed herself because she didn't want to be tortured.

The way I understand it, Sylar kills his victims to get their brains, which according to Mohinders papi, was the source of the power in a sense. And so Sylar gets the mint condition brain and I guess eats it? But Eden was smart, even though she was got, she splattered her brains witha point blank shot, rendering them useless to Sylar.

So you mean Sylar needs an unspoilered brain, so to speak, to get their power? I guess that could be it, but we have no final evidence - it could just be that Eden shot herself just because she didn't want to be tortured. Although, I gotta admit, I like your way of seeing it better. It would be a much nicer way for Eden to die.

I'm assuming that the ability resides in a very specific part of the brain, and when Eden shot her self, she spread her grey matter around too much for him to salvage

thats what i thought originally, but ever since the eden death he has had that voice like hers... maybe he didnt get the full entent of her power due to the mushiness of the brain:)

Also Eden's power didn't work on Sylar. We don't know why. It could be Sylar have some power that is negating hers.

Possibly something to do with the fact that he knew what she was trying to do, and hence could fight it?

I'm almost certain Syler doesn't have Eden's power, or else he wouldn't have needed to do all that messing around with Mohinder - he could just have compelled him to compile the list for him.

Essentially, Sylar killed Claire and became invulnerable. Hiro tried to kill Sylar just before Sylar went nuclear, having gained Ted's power. Hiro failed, Sylar went boom, NYC went bye bye, Nathan became the nation's hero and the Heroes became hunted criminals.

Future-Hiro tried to avert the Sylar-boom by telling Peter to save Claire. However it seems like Peter will take Sylar's place as the bomb, thus rendering Future-Hiro's plans unsuccessful.
