Dude. Brilliant Abyss, brilliant. I completely agree that even the predictable storylines usually have interesting twists. And the lack of depth is just fine for me. That's not why I'm watching. :).

I have to admit, that I never see any of these obvious plotlines, story-arcs, etc. I'm really thick when I watch TV, so most everything in this show is surprising and nifty to me.

I suppose it's specifically comics, and to an extent X-Men comics. So many elements in the show have been done...

Hell, most of these have been done in other tv shows too. But it's seeing all the above done well, in a fun way that, regardless of the tropes, still feels new

- Abyss, wonders why we never get to see a brand spanking shiny NEW conspiracy that like, just started yesterday?

Oh, well yeah. I know the characters are all done before. I collected Fleer cards back in 94-95. :)
X-men rules.
But the plotlines I never can predict. *really really thick*

I think at one point, I had the entire major league baseball '95 roster in cards. Eventually, I got tired of baseball and handed most of them over to my friends.

My little brother destroyed a David Robinson rookie card once. That would be worth money today.

If you look closely, Nathan has a scar. It's on his lower left jaw.

I think Sylar is somewhat expendable because you have Linderman already established for next season.

Linderman has always seemed to me the biggest threat. A rich man, with a lot of money, and whole lot of connections, and obviously nutters. That's problematic on a scale that one lone pycho on the run just isn't.

The whole Linderman thing is weird. He has connections all over the place, and were just now beginning to see how vast they are. I love how they made us think that Bennet was really important in this grand conspiracy, but it turns out he was just a pawn in a game much larger than even he knew.

And that reminds me:

Watching Linderman, Mrs. Petrelli and Sylar's interactions with Mohinder, I get this overwhelming sense that IT has all happened before. Maybe not nuclear Ka-Boom of Doom obliterating NYC, but something happened to put Linderman in contact with Dr. Suresh (Mohinder's father). Something big enough to prompt Linderman to create his organization and to set his agenda. Sylar, even though I said he may be expendable, seems to be the bridge between 1st gen and current gen.

Anyone here read Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie? Does that jibe with this?

I loved her in that moment <3

Okay episode, but, seriously, crappiest cliffhanger EVER.

Will Bennett kill Mlly, or adopt her??

Actually, I thought this was a let down of an episode. The Hiro storyline was weak and the Sylar/Ted/Peter/Claire plot wasn't firing on all cylinders.

Not GOOD maybe, but thoroughly SATISFYING to me =) great feeling of convergence.

But yeah, Peter and Claire kinda sucked :p I hope for their sake they didn't waste all that time snogging in his car.

Season finale tonight!

Who's going to blow sky-high? Pete? Sylar?

Who's going to make it alive to season 2?

I'm fucking psyched!:D

SO not as good as the last episode. They needed a well-made extra-long ep to do it properly, not this mess of glued-together ideas! I'm satisfied (for getting some closure, for cute things like Hiro looking badass, etc) but not totally blown-away by this ep.

On the one hand I'm pissed off by the thing with Sylar, but, on the other hand, I've really grown to like the character and the actor, so I don't think i mind too much. I hope the other guy Molly mentioned proves to be a worthy successor.

The show still has my love :D can't wait for next season!

EDIT: Best thing about this episode. The best thing...

...

...

... NOAH!!! :D

HIRE A FIGHT SCENE COORDINATOR ALREADY!

Felt a bit anti-climactic to me, probably because there wasn't enough action to create a sense of urgency in me. Still, interesting to see that teaser for next season...Hiro gets to meet his hero!

Sir Thursday
Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.
