Agree re: Sylar - he's the Superman character stood on its head. What if Clark Kent had gone the other way? I really like that.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

but then, to ask another interesting question, what powers do Sylar and Peter possess?

Saylar:
Telekinesis
Extreeme Hearing
See future
Melt metal
Freeze what he touches
that mind thing of the cafe girl
levitation or something? (I didn't hear your footsteps. I didn't walk)
Nuklear power
what else?

Peter:
all of the above
regeneration
manipulate space and time
super strenght
fly
that persuasion thing his mother does
whatever the guy he worked as a nurse for had
read minds
did he get close enough to Micha?
invisibility
did i forget any?

surely they'll make a mistake one time throughout the series and forgett one power in a situation somewhere

I'm slightly worried about there being perhaps too many new characters. The cast was already pretty crowded in Season 1. Hopefully the writers don't let the plot get away from them with an overabundance of Heroes.

It's a real risk. As was, there were more than a few redundant or pointless storylines, see: most of Hiro and Ando's Excellent Adventure, all of Jessica/Nikki goes to jail, Mohinder wandering around having crisises of faith...

It never quite came close to losing me, but there were a few times where it was just a please-move-on-asap kind of feeling.

@Morgoth: i suspect your list is a bit more sweeping than accurate. Peter gets the powers of those he meets - that doesn't necessarily him getting the powers of everyone Sylar had eaten. And as we saw the second time they met, Sylar is a lot better and nastier at using the powers he has, a la shatter glass and throw it everywhere including Peter's skull.

- Abyss, calls that a sharp move.

I disagree to some extent here. The Jessica/Nikki storyline was -i believe- purely a device to show the methods and workings of Linderman and his henchmen, though she'll obviously continue being an important player.

And as for absorbing powers. Peter obviously gained Saylar's power of telekinesis, and so it is natural to assume that he also absorbed the others, especially in light of the last episode where reneved contact with Saylar caused him to overload because "[he] absorbed his powers".

Obviously, a mass of power is not all it takes, and Saylar, who's so obsessed with his abilities control them to perfection whereas Peter still acts through instinct.. Though, that had changed those five years into the future. Am I the only one thinking the fight scene in that ep was only put there to jerk off all us geeks by the way? :)

the fight had the potential :), tho' of course they cut off screen once Peter and Sylar started to unload.

Nikkica... eh, she has her ongoing personality conflict, yes, but the prison thing did nothing for it except set her up as a hitter for Linderman - all of once so she could throw Matt out a window. Linderman's people were onto her in like the first two eps - we could have had more kicky/shooty and less whiny/whiny.

I see your point re Peter getting Sylar's tk - i had forgotten my original theory which was that Pete got the powers Sylar used in his presence, as opposed to everything Sylar has - he's never seen Sylar use the ice or melty powers, so why would he try?

I just picked the first season on DVD. Sweet.

Seeing as I don't have much else to do, I dare say I'm going to have a Heroes marathon this weekend! No month long interruptions or commercials!:)

What the hell?

So both Older Petrelli Brother (can't remember name) and fat police mental guy survived the last episode? That sort of takes all drama out of the grand finale.

I can understand that flying petrelli might have just dropped peter over the ocean but how the hell did chubby police officer survive four bullets? He wasn't wearing a west as far as I remember.

Other than that, Yeah, Syllar is back, I hope he eats the Cheerleaders brain this time.

Ahhhhh... at laaaassst...

I am kinda pleased :p so far, the only changes I really feel negatively about is the addition of those Mexican siblings. Feels like there will be too much whining and melodrama in that arc. I didn't like that assface at Claire's school, but I'm hoping it will be like when I didn't like Sylar, and that the assface will turn out to be a cool character. I'm a bit doubtful about... Kensei... but hey, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt! Hope they don't end up undoing all of Hiro's cool, though.

What they seem to have done with Peter and Nathan, well, I think that's half-cool and half shit. I do know I already dislike that Irish gang, and am really not looking forward to another half season of Peter trying to discover who he is.

Best thing so far, I think, is what they've done with Bennett, Suresh, Parkman, and Molly! Bennett at Copy Kingdom was awesome, and Parkman and Suresh both feel a lot more authentic to me now. I think their acting's improved or something :D

The greatest disappointment for me was the absence of Sylar. I had been looking forward to seeing him because of that DAMNED TRAILER!! :D but it was okay, the cheerleaders were kinda cute enough to make up for it.
