I like dis bandz so much. THey gota kind of Nirvana thing goin on, if Nirvana were from down under and were twice as clinically depressed.


Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.

Man I am just so so happy that not only is the new Deltron 3030 not a disappointment, it's absolutely and totally awesome. Not quite the first album, but what is?

Anyone been listening to Turisas' new album?




Thoughts on the album as a whole?

I think it's a little different from their others but I like it. Some good tracks on there and I'm enjoying listening to it but I don't think there's any in particular that really stand out, unlike in their previous albums...

Oh man I am loving it! I think, as a whole, they have grown up as a band. The album is heavier (see "Greek Fire") and more mature (see "Piece by Piece") yet they still manage to not take themselves so seriously (see "Run Bhang-Eater, Run!" and "No Good Story Ever Starts With Drinking Tea") Sure they don't have their "epic" song like they have done in all their others (see "Rex Regi Rebellis" on Battle Metal, "The Miklagard Overture" on The Varangian Way and "Fear the Fear" on Stand up and Fight) nor do they have the fist pumping, heart racing, everyone in the audience joins in the chorus title track as the others do (though on The Varangian Way that track is actually called "Holmgard and Beyond") but, by heck, they make good music! The track "Greek Fire" is probably my favourite track. It is the heaviest song they have done and also one of the most musically intense. Love it so much!



I have tickets to see them in Manchester on the weekend and I cannot wait. I have managed to catch them live every time they have come to the UK and they are outstanding. Will be dressing up as a Viking, as per usual!!

I think the more I listen to it, the more it will grow on me—as I say, don't get me wrong, the music itself is great; the album just strikes me as a little unusual and maybe a small departure from the previous albums, though not in a bad way (I think it might just be that Turisas2013 isn't a particularly imaginative album title).

Plus I didn't really realise it was released and it kinda crept up on me. I saw it on Spotify and was like 'HEY! Check this out!'

I'll stick it on again later for another listen. :doh:

EDIT: Enjoy the concert! Little bit jealous now...

As a fellow countrywoman of the band, I've listened to it since Battle Metal, and, well...I didn't like this new development. The album felt really disjointed and tired. The previous masterpieces had a clear story to tell, now even the title suffers from a lack of coherence. Turisas2013? Really? What happened to Finnish vikings journeying to Byzantium or stomping into battle guided by their war god? :doh: Epic multilingual songs such as Rexi Regi Rebellis? Well, all bands do have their downs (Didn't much like Korpiklaani's Karkelo either, but Manala was one perkeleenmoinen romp); waiting to see if they improve by the time of the next installment...
