Necry Talkie - CHAKAPOKO
They're totally bonkers but I love them. This song is the theme from the Eagle Talon: Golden Spell anime.

We've reached that point in late-stage capitalism where the lines a blurred, and a mashup of social media and a conventional marketing campaign for a sorry national restaurant chain can lead to a big "hit." There no longer is artist integrity, and the idea of "selling out" isn't relevant anymore. It's all up for grabs and open season now.
[EDIT] I miss Anthony Bourdain. Oh the masterpiece he would weave in commenting on this.

Grimes reaches new depths of cringeworthiness on TikTok:
'Everything you [Twitter etc.] hate I love'? Racism? Fascism? Elon Musk? Trump?
It's true the media has been actively over-interpreting Musk's statement that they're 'semi-separated' because they've been living in different states to mean they've 'broken up'.
Musk is supposedly the richest person in the world as of today (possibly not counting the black market).
I do wish she'd break up with him---hopefully she can get a % of his income as child support?...
[Edit: thought she was mouthing 'I love you Elon Musk' at the end but maybe not....]

Probably this too, if there's a BF sale on upgrades from Iron 1:

Looks like there won't be a BF sale on upgrades from Iron 1. Oh well. I'm thinking of getting one of these two virtual violins for my AI (neural network trained on actual violinists) to play virtuosically (... with a bit of extra 'programming'):
(music starts at about 2:30 in)
(audio examples start around 0:50 in)

Probably going to buy this:
'library based on ritual voices and epic war chants. We have recorded many traditional singing styles from different cultures around the world: Tuvan throat and overtone singing (Kaargyra, Khoomei and Szygyt), Sardinian Throat singing (Bassu), Nordic Kulning (high pitch female style), Slavic Singing (white voices), Western baritone, tenor and soprano, guttural voices, ritual chants and even extreme distortion, high-pitch techniques, screams, vocal fry and growls.
The result is a set of 8 different playable Kontakt instruments that combine all these voices together to create a huge variety of sounds[...]
Vocal Horns is a one shot sample player based on tonal voice SFX, ranging from extremely low tones, screams, animale-esque wailings, breathes and whispers and much more. All the Vocal Horns have been created as an hybrid between an human vocalization and an ancient war horn, by using sound design techniques like extreme re-pitching and spectral morph'
(the drums are included too)
And upgrade from Geosonics to this:
'You may not know Chris Watson's name but you'll have heard his work. As a field recordist, he's the man who has been trusted to capture natural sound to accompany the images of David Attenborough's Frozen Planet and The Life Of Birds series for the BBC[...] His recordings have taken him around the world and filled hard drives full of extraordinary sounds.
Sonic Couture's programmers have persuaded him to hand some of these over to a collection of the world's leading sound designers'
'Transforming ambient atmospherics such as wire, crashing ice, chirping frogs and wailing winds into playable musical instruments'
'soundscape instrument [...] with audio captured around the world from locations including:
GOBI DESERT ICELANDIC GLACIERS BORNEO RAINFOREST TAIGA FOREST MASAI MARA ANTARCTICA GALAPAGOS SOUTH CHINA SEAS NSW DESERT, AUSTRALIA NORWAY CARRIBEAN'

Latest episode of J-Melo had a segment about this collective. Really cool and will melt your heart. The world needs more of this light.

Bought today:
(Love the one that starts around 45 seconds in (above))
(already had the desktop version, but portable will be fun once I start going out again---always good to a bring a black hole to a postpandemic open mic / party...)

Two more libraries I'm considering:
Bought the Joshua Bell Violin on sale. He's currently leading the Philadelphia Orchestra. Clearly he's such a virtuoso they just decided to let him run everything. Soon he'll outfiddle not just Apollo and the Devil but the rest of the gods... now that my AI has control of Him! #SingularityHereWeCome

And two more:
Huge number and variety of true legatos for the female voice....
This one's been haunting my sleep....
'Finnish folk poetry recounts that the first kantele was made from the jaw bones of fish and the hair of young maidens. When the first kantele was played, the sound was so beautiful that all living things started to cry. Their tears rolled into the ocean, and when they touched the sea they turned into beautiful blue pearls.'

Oh man, people love themselves some Adele, don't they. Really not for me, but I gotta say she does have some pipes.
