I'll be seeing them Heavy Temple at the end of February.

Ok, some more G0GGS. Turn it up to 11 and rip the knob off. Parental Warning: may lead to loosened fillings in teeth. Listen at your own risk.

Holy wow I think I'm in lust with Lizzy Ellison's voice

"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Just saw WITHIN TEMPTATION for the 4th time, and they were of course excellent!

They're ace. I have a much loved copy of their Black Symphony concert DVD that still gets a lot of play - I recommend it if you haven't seen it, was a full length concert performed with the Metropole Orchestra.

Who's listened to Dave's debut album Psychodrama? He's a 20-year-old English rapper for those who ain't familiar, the album came out last week, and it's fucking incredible. Lyrically and in terms of depth and theme he's insane for any age, let alone 20.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

Damn, I just found out Dick Dale has died. You guys may know his music from Pulp Fiction. He was loud before any of the bands known for being loud were even an idea. He could shred with the best of them.

Spotify has been a thing in India over the past 2 months and I absolutely love it.

A lot of the days, I come back utterly tired and those relaxing instrumental playlists have been a lifesaver

Yah, Spotify is a lifesaver too if you have a commute and/or you work at a computer all day and can't stand the radio.

I've been listening to the new Jenny Lewis album since it came out. I like but don't love her post-RK work generally, but the new album is SO good. Her best solo album by a long shot, and definitely favorite of the year contender already.

Have been trying to introduce my son to Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana but he ain’t having none of it. He’s still on the Queen kick I introduced to him this school year since he decided he wanted to start band.

If you're trying to shift him into 90's Grunge from 70's/80's glamrock, you may need to move him through some REALLY kickass later-era Foo Fighters first to get him into the apathetic 90's malaise through more visceral alt-rock.

Like play him the video for 'The Pretender' and see if he doesn't rock out...then it's a hop, skip and jump to the 90's Classics.

...also you may try him on harder edged brit-pop like some early Blur which skates the edges of alt-rock and pop combined.

Like try him on Charmless Man, for example:

I'm pretty sure the answer here -- as it is with all questions everywhere -- is Spacehog.
