The Giants D-Line just wore down the Cowboys O-Line. You could see that none of them, particularly Flozell and Gurode, were in much shape to get run blocks going at the end of the game.
That being said, I was absolutely surprised that the Giants secondary played that well. The Giants and Packers in the NFC Championship? Who saw this happening at the beginning of the season?

I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I understand their thought process, but it was a mistake. Hindsight is 20/20 and all that, I know, but it has proven to be a bad decision, and i knew it when they signed him. Kearney is a different story-he's a defensive end, which is different from a running back. You don't expect as sharp of a drop off from an old DE as you do from an old running back.
I'll give you this. i was a little harsh on the guy. He had more than one great season. He had a few good ones too before that. But you don't sign an aging back to a crazy contract expecting him to duplicate a career season. That's why they call it a career season, it happens once in a career. Now they're in trouble.

RLY ~ Please reread the above, your words. I just pointed out WHY he was paid ie productivity at that time, every GM wishes he had a crystal ball to see what a guy would do after he is paid and to be fair to Alexander he has been injured the last two years. Did Seahawks screw up signing Pat Kearney this year 31 years old now, you tell me!
Xander ~ 2001-2005 is 5 seasons muppet & the seasons he was rewarded for with his contract ! I presume you know both locker rooms well NOT to call LT a better teammate than Alexander, stick to the facts :hand:

Did you call me a muppet?

Ok...time to destroy your argument again.
1. You are missing the point. YOU DO NOT GIVE AN AGING RUNNING BACK A HUGE CONTRACT. It is rare...and by rare I mean almost never...that a back continues to be as productive after he hits age 30. This is known as the "declining year" in NFL circles.
2. Pat Kearney is NOT A RUNNING BACK. So I don't even know why you brought that up. Desperation?
3. Do you recall, oh great wise NFL guru, a couple of years ago when Alexander claimed he was "stabbed in the back" by the Seahawk organization and team because he was not allowed to go back in the game and get the NFL rushing title? Wow...what a classy guy...whining...as Alexander is known for...again. He is a me first guy and is known as that.
4. I am growing tired of this argument. You are obviously biased towards the team and Alexander...so I suppose it is natural for you to defend them. Just let it go. The Seahawks made a mistake. You don't see aging backs getting enormous contracts.
Even Corey Dillon got a limited year deal because the Pats knew he was getting close to the end of the road...and his contract was heavily incentive laden...much like Jamal Lewis with the Browns this year.

Very interesting game on between Giants and Packers... 3 minutes left, Manning just got sacked, scores 20 - 20. Nice.

Oh Dear Ray, you got the ball but you didn't score ..... please tell me you were sat in a Seattle bar with your cheesehead on watching Favre's overtime gaff. What goes around comes around, deja-vu, fate, a curse call it what you like but the best team won on the day no doubt.
What Would Jack Do ?

Yeah, we got clearly outplayed in really every aspect of the game. Complete debacle. Oh well.

G'ints in the Super Bowl means 2 weeks until George R.R. Martin writes another word, and then 2 months after that when he mourns their loss.
Nice of Norv to punt from the Pat's 37 yard-line in the 4th quarter while trailing by 9 because then I could head out to work on time (it was a Monday morning, 530am start local time).

pity.. chargers played well enough to win but didnt take enough risks in the potentially final game of their season to win(such as going for it instead of punting halfway through the 4th quarter and kicking fieldgoals all day rather than going for TDs).
well, the giants have the stuff to win.. they put together a great game a few weeks ago and not much has changed since then. for once in my life ill be rooting for eli manning. sad though that the superbowl is going to be between teams a few hours drive from each other. sucks for us west coasters
