The D Line should be the MVP of the game....Brady hasn't been pressured like that in years...

wow...18-0...all for naught..

The only bad part is having to hear the fucking Miami players talk shit now...since they are still the only undefeated team...ugh

Eli Manning and the Giants D line are my new heroes. My first child will be named Michael Strahan, the second will be named "Nigerian name I can't remember, but the other defensive end for the Giants." Then if I have a girl I'll name her Elli Manning.

My condolences to Pats fans. As a Packers fan, I can well understand how it feels to have your Superbowl dreams cut short by the Giants. It was still a historic season,, one that will be remembered and discussed 50 years from now. The year the Pats fielded arguably the best team ever, and fell short of perfection in the biggest Superbowl upset ever to a 10-6 wildcard team. The stuff of legend, and we all got to see it happen. Go football.

This season got me more into NFL football than I've been for a long time, for a wide variety of reasons. Now just the pointless probowl, and there's nothing but Arena Football until next year.

I plan on using a combination of UFC, Xbox football, and Arena ball to get me through the lean times until next season. Predictions: National Championship: Georgia 38, Ohio State 17. Superbowl: Patriots 34, Greenbay 24. You heard it here first.

Thats a lot to expect from a new QB to take the Packers to the Super Bowl Ray, I suspect you will miss the next postseason unless you have some strong free agent pickups.
What Would Jack Do ?

Phoenix won't get over the hump. Team isn't designed for it. Lakers, Spurs, or something wacky like the JailBlazers.

Red Sox won't make it two in a row, too much luck involved to do it with the quality of teams at the top.

Green Bay and Jax is a possibility, but if Favre doesn't return it will be someone else. For shits and giggles, if Houston makes a wildcard run I'll give it to them in the NFC, because thats been the way of things the past decade.

Oh, and a USC/Georgia bcs game would be one for the ages. If they let Ohio State lose another title game to the SEC i'm going to puke

Favre will play for another four years, and then retire to run for president.

Justin Tuck was probably the best player on the field for a good chunk of the game. I guess signing a 30 million dollar contract (16 guaranteed) is a good performance-booster.

The DTs were pretty good too.

If I ran an NFL franchise, I would play more downs with the three (or four, counting Kiwanuka) DEs on the field Giants-style. I know it potentially leaves the defense vulnerable to the run, but can you argue with that pass rush?
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

They could get away with it because they knew the Pats weren't going to run that much. A team with a stronger ground game, hat might not be the best plan.

Maybe next year Bubba!
Great game! Great defensive effort by the Giants. I've never seen Brady so flummoxed! Fabulous!! :D Yay for Peyton's little brother!!

Eli should give his new car to the D-line or have them vote on which of their number should get the car. I vote for Justin Tuck!

Phoenix can get over the hump because the Spurs are worn out....the Lakers are inexperienced (except for Kobe), and the Blazers are too young.

Red Sox are still the best team and Matsuzaka is only going to get better. They beefed up their bullpen too. Oh and Ortiz will be healthy this year.

Houston is in the AFC, not NFC :D

USC loses a lot of their defense and will have a new, pretty much untested QB. I agree about Ohio St...they should be banned from the Title game for 4 years...if they face UGA then that will make it 3 blowouts in a row

Lakers have Kobe, Odom, and now Pau Gasol to go with their youth. Thats a fairly good team, I just don't see the Suns doing it because their team is built for the regular season and have never really proven themselves in the playoffs. Maybe if everyone is healthy for a whole year, but it's rare in that type of offense. Too much pressure on the body running full court 24/7.

Red Sox big hitters are old and JD Drew still sucks. Schilling and Wakefield ain't getting any younger either.

My bad on Houston.

USC loses some, but Sanchez was the top rated QB the year he came out of high school. He did okay in the few games he filled in this year. Their offense will be better with all the other skill positions having some seasoning this year and noone major leaving other than Booty. They have a much easier Pac10 schedule this year having Oregon and Cal at home, so they should be able to put together a title contending season if they can survive their non-conference schedule.

Kobe still hasn't proven he can do anything in the playoffs alone. Odom is a good player but doesn't work well with Kobe. Gasol is also unproven. I can see them winning a series in the playoffs...but going all the way? Unlikely. The Suns GOT SCREWED last year or I really think they would've beaten the Spurs...and I think that will drive them once in the playoffs.

USC will be good next year...and yes Raymond, they do play Ohio State, but all those losses on Defense will hurt...probably cost them at least one win.

The Red Sox may be even better this year. Beckett will no doubt be a 20 game winner as long as he stays fairly healthy, and as I said I could see Matsuzaka winning close to 20. Schilling is good for 12-15 wins...Lester may have a breakout year...and Wakefield almost ALWAYS wins 15 games. I expect JD Drew to play at least a little better...plus Jacoby Ellsbury will be a rising star...they are freaking LOADED.

Oh and did I mention this is a contract/option year for Manny? You know he is going to bring it. 40 homers at least.

I say this as a thoroughly disheartened Knicks fan and a watcher of much basketball: Kobe Bean Bryant is the best basketball player on this planet right now. He's head and shoulders above LeBron James - the next best.

The weirdest thing about this fact is that just about every single person in the league agrees with it and without much prompting.

Odom has always preferred being a 3, and the addition of Gasol lets him slide over there more often. Gasol's an All-Star, and his ball skills and shooting touch make up for a slight hesitancy to bang down low. He fits really well in the triangle too. If Bynum comes back in time for the playoffs, that's a team nobody really wants to play. I'd play the Jazz rather than the Lakers.

The Suns had to play a decisive game without two important players. But those players broke a rule and Stern, being the glorious asshole he is, gave them precisely the penalty promised if they broke that rule and refused to yield.

I think this year's the most open title chase I've seen in a while. Off the top of my head I can name six legit title contenders and a couple dark horses.

Getting back to to the focus: I thought Rodgers looked good as the future Packers QB. I dunno what his ceiling is, but he looks to be more than a "game-manager".
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I don't think Kobe is head and shoulders better...but I've never liked Kobe that much. I could see them getting to the Western Conference Finals...maybe...that is about it.

I think Rodgers having to sit for all these years is going to end up paying big dividends in the long run. I think he has toughened mentally and lost a lot of arrogance he had going into the draft.
He has a strong arm and good mechanics.
