A Jaghut Tyrant (Malazan books of the fallen) wakes up in Faerun and follows his natural instincts (That being to crush all things to his will and enslave them all).

Scenario 1)- The Weaekened Jaghut from "Gardens of the moon" without the Finnest
(And he can't regain his lost power).

Scenario 2) A fully powered Jaghut awakes.

S 3) A Jaghut Tyrant with an enslaved T'lan Imass Bonecaster awakes during the height of The Netheril Empire, all the Wizard kings are aware of the threat and have 3 days to prepare, and the Phaerimm will ally with them (Not to mention their other allies such as the Elves).

Can someone tell me more about what a fully powered Tyrant can do?
I only have Deadhouse gates and GotM so far,,,

Im confused. But welcome to the forums. This properly belongs in the malazan books forum. Theirs one for each book. What could a fully powered tyrant do? Cover the world in an ice age.

well, if a Jaghut without his finnest can fight off 5 dragons. One of the most powerfull dragons. Then, I would assume he would command an empire on faerun. However, i think it quite possible he would be defeated if any of the truly powerful nations/cultures/races put their minds too it.

Forgotten Realms, the "quintessential" (and least innovative) world of AD&D. Imho, to be avoided - too rosy and munchkinlike.

1) Welcome!
2) Consider, if you will: Gothos managed to freeze time itself on a continent for quite a few millenia - and he was not a Tyrant...
3) All magic on Faerun is dependent on Mystra's then-active incarnation (exception:Shadow Weave), so how could a Jaghut access magic (unless you fundamentally change the magic system).

well, if it's a D&D world, then the tyrant would dominate with little difficulty I think. Especially if said tyrant is in possession of its finnest. There's really nothing to rival the powerscale of Erikson in D&D

Well, there is a D&D adaptation for Cook's Black Company, and there the Dominator or the Lady would wipe the floor with any jaghut :cool:
Also, the regular Planescape setting would be too much for a tyrant, as the Lady of Pain would simply maze the critter

Ugh, I'm getting visions of threads like "Rake would totally pwn Rands' or Elminsters' a*se" starting.

I think no matter how powerful the character, someone thinking laterally could defeat them. It helps to cut down uber-epic level campaigns.

Well that's why I was reduced to angry disbelief when I read a Forgotten Realms book some years past, about that Elminster Guy's childhood. What a load of ****. He had a not very mysterious female companion you just new was Mystra. Mystra the Goddes of magic... it was so silly I nearly had to kick my friend, who had recommended it. I can still hear him now: "No, no. It's not a childrens book, it's very good, with dragons... and stuff."

If you set Raest loose with his Finnest in that world it would be reduced to slavery, two seconds after he killed all the weak dragons and enslaved Mystra... then he would probably laugh and invite his buddy, the CG over for supper Hell even without his finnest it shouldn't take him long...
